1 National Awarding Committee (NAC) for EuroPsy in The Netherlands: Overview Introduction Each NAC is requested by the EAC to complete the following overview and submit this to the EFPA Office in Brussels by February each year. The completed forms will be placed on the EuroPsy webpage ( and should also be placed on the national EuroPsy website. The answers on the form should be in line with the application of the NAC as approved by the EAC. Some items can be completed by providing a check mark or a brief answer (e.g., filling in a date, name, number or address). With other items further descriptive information is required from all NACs. There are also items which some NACs can answer by providing a tick while for other NACs there is a need to supply descriptive information. Further clarification will be needed whenever there is not a uniform arrangement for all fields of practice in a country. Each item has a number and you are asked to provide descriptive information in an Appendix of which the number corresponds with the number of the item. NB Please indicate with the item where you add an Appendix: see Appendix 1, see Appendix 2, etc. The form should be complete when all grey text has been completed. 1

They have a duration of two years (full time work) and are a combination of theoretical courses and supervised practice. 3b Training of supervisors National arrangement for training of supervisors is in place, arranged by the NAC arranged by the national psychologists association(s) offered by universities other (see Appendix XX) Various arrangements for training of supervisors are in place (see Appendix XX) There is no organised training program in the country (evaluation procedure for EuroPsy applicants is specified in Appendix XX) 3c Level of training of supervisors (see Appendix V of the EFPA Regulations on EuroPsy) Most supervisors meet Level 1 criteria Most supervisors meet Level 2 or Level 1 criteria Most supervisors meet Level 3 or higher criteria 3

6 Supervised practice 1 year (60 EC) To subscribe to MetaCode of professional Ethics of EFPA psychologists 2 years, (128.6 NL-EC, 144 EC) Including: EC supervised practice EC courses and assignments EC supervision Healthcare psychologists who are members of the NIP subscribe to the NIP Code of Ethics Note: 1 EuroPsy EC = 25 study hours 1 Netherlands university EC = 28 study hours Duration and content of the programme The training programme encompasses two years full-time (3600 hours, 144 European EC) and consists of: 810 hours theoretical en practical education in the discipline of healthcare psychology; of which hours education and training; hours psychodiagnostics, comprising: psychopathology, including psychological aspects of somatic disorders; methodology of the diagnostic reasoning process; diagnostic models; measurement theory, psychometrics and test construction; skill in the application of the main diagnostic methods; specific diagnostic skills for different age and social groups, including culture-related issues; reflection on the diagnostic attitude, including professional ethics hours indication, comprising: indications and contra-indications of various psychological, educational and psychotherapeutic treatment modalities, organizing assistance and social services, report and record hours treatment methods, comprising: applying general psychological and pedagogical techniques and specific psychotherapeutic techniques both individual and system oriented, learning and cognitive theories, psychodynamic theories, experiential theories, system theories and group dynamics; treatment planning; establish and handling of the treatment relationship; dealing with resistance; process evaluation; handling of groups; effects of pharmacotherapy; specific therapeutic skills for different age and social groups, including culture-related issues; reflection on the therapeutic attitude, including professional ethics. 6

10 Requirements literature study pages scientific literature This literature is not part of the accredited education. It is in addition to the requirements for accredited education. Appendix 4 Requirements for revalidation as Health Care Psychologist (known as the BIG registration) Those who hold the BIG registration have to apply for a revalidation every 5 years. They are required to have worked at least 3120 hours as a Health Care Psychologist. When they do not meet this requirement they have to follow certain specific courses. Requirements for revalidation for Work & Organization registration NIP Those who hold the NIP Work & Organization registration have to apply for a revalidation every 5 years. They have to meet the following requirements: - Workexperience: at least 3680 hours of workexperience (at least 16 hours a week) - CPD: At least 40 hours per year in a range of different types of professional development activities. Requirements for revalidation for Child & Youth registration NIP Those who hold the NIP Child and Youth registration have to apply for a revalidation every 5 years. They have to meet the following requirements: - Worke xperience: at least 2500 hours of work experience (at least 16 hours a week) - CPD: At least 120 hours in five years in a range of different types of professional development activities. 10
