I greatly enjoyed all of it. After finishing my studies, I worked as a methods and statistics teacher at VU University Amsterdam for one year. In September 2012 I started my PhD project funded with a Research Talent grant from the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO) at Utrecht University, on the role of safety behaviors in anxiety disorders. Part of my doctoral appointment entails teaching. Alongside my research, I was active as a PhD representative in the Social Sciences PhD council and as the president of the PhD Network Utrecht (Prout). Additionally, in 2015 and 2016 I worked as a psychologist at Altrecht Academic Anxiety Center. It is my ambition to combine psychological research and teaching with working in clinical practice. I believe that there is room for improvement in the connection between practice and research in the clinical psychological field, and it is my aim to contribute to this.
