Welcome to IMAGE 2014 the 5 th International Live Endoscopy Course Foreword We are very pleased to warmly welcome in Milan the Italian and International colleagues who will be attending the 5th International Live Endoscopy Course - IMAGE 2014. This year, as per tradition, we have an outstanding international faculty coming from all over the world. They will share with us knowledge and innovations through a combination of lectures, live cases and discussions that will cover most of the hot topics in gastroenterology and digestive endoscopy. For the first year some of the major experts in IBD like Silvio Danese and Simon Travis will join the meeting adding new expertise in the field of endoscopy of patients with IBD and updating us on the advances in medical therapy of these diseases. A number of cutting-edge technology and advanced techniques will be presented and demonstrated during live cases. As token for our guest, during the meeting our organization will provide to all participants (by USB device or wireless technology) a daily release of one live case video and all the speakers presentations. Wishing everyone a fruitful and enjoyable time. A. Repici Milano (Italy) A. Malesci Milano (Italy) S. Danese Milano (Italy)

City Map ABOUT MILAN Milan is the main industrial, commercial and financial center of Italy and a leading global city. Its business district hosts the Italian Stock Exchange and the headquarters of the largest national banks and companies. While not considered as beautiful as some Italian cities, having been greatly destroyed by Second World War bomb raids, the city has rebuilt itself into a thriving cosmopolitan business capital. In short, what makes Milan interesting for tourists compared to other places is that the city is truly more about the lifestyle of enjoying worldly pleasures. Milan is a major world fashion and design capital. The city is also well known for several international events and fairs, including Milan Fashion Week and the Milan Furniture Fair, the largest of its kind in the world, and it will also host the 2015 Universal Exposition. It hosts numerous cultural institutions and universities, with 185,000 enrolled students in 2011, i.e. 11 percent of the national total. Thanks to its important museums, theatres and landmarks Milan attracts more than two million annual visitors. The Duomo, the fourth largest cathedral in the world and Santa Maria delle Grazie, decorated with Leonardo da Vinci paintings, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. La Scala, one of the best established opera houses in the world and the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, an ancient and glamorous arcaded shopping gallery. Brera art gallery, with some of the finest artistic works in Europe and the Pirelli tower, a majestic example of 1960s modernist Italian architecture. San Siro, a huge and famed stadium and the Castello Sforzesco, a grand medieval castle.
