BACKGROUND TSAR has over 30 years experience designing and producing high quality, custom-made carpets and rugs for both commercial and residential projects. We are proud to call ourselves experts at tailoring our product and designs to meet the needs of our clients. We have a talented, innovative, enthusiastic team who are committed to innovation and new directions that will serve the market. The holding company, Dakee Pty Ltd, for the TSAR brand was established by David and Kerrie Sharpley. The company began as a hand tufting business, producing custom-made rugs for the architectural and interior design sectors and, before long, retail clientele. In response to requests from commercial clients, TSAR began to explore the possibilities of making wall-to wall carpet using the techniques perfected in area rugs. Hand tufting and pass machine techniques were employed to produce unique carpets. This development led to TSAR s involvement in a variety of commercial projects including hotels, corporate tenancies and exclusive residences, both through architectural and design firms and direct client contact. The TSAR product line was then extended to include Custom Made Axminster carpets, by utilising world first design and manufacturing techniques to create truly unique carpet. Although TSAR is a proudly Australian Company, we have a global outlook with showrooms in Melbourne, New York and Singapore servicing Australia, USA, Europe, Asia and in the Middle East.

JUMERIA HOTEL ETIHAD TOWERS DUBAI, UAE TSAR produced over 7,000 square metres of luxurious carpet and rugs for the Jumeria Hotel Dubai. Our beautiful carpets are throughout the five building complex, covering a wide range of areas including: Presidential Suite, Chairman s Suite, Serviced Apartments, Lobbies, Podiums, Meeting Rooms, VIP areas, Observation Deck, Convention Centre and The Grand Ballroom The Ballroom in particular was unique, a very complex pattern, designed to be continuous, sized over 65 metres by over 31 metres. It was a design and manufacturing marvel, trusted to TSAR who delivered to perfection.
CROWN MELBOURNE TSAR produced over 5,000 square metres of carpet for the Crown Hotel in Melbourne. Working intensively with the architects, AIA, translating their requirements into beautiful floor coverings that enhance the restrained decor and furnishings throughout the hotel and gaming areas.over 176 designs were created using techniques suitable for the specific uses in each area. The beauty of the carpets compliments the practical considerations needed to withstand high and low traffic, the amount of natural and artificial light, even the level of visual impact. Our carpets take pride of place in the main foyer, and both public and private areas including the prefunction areas of the Palladium Ballroom, corridors, life lobbies, hi-roller reception rooms and suites, pampering and treatment areas, boardrooms and lounge rooms. Subsequent refurbishments have resulted in many more thousands of square metres, reliably provided by TSAR.
PALAZZO VERSACE - Queensland TSAR has produced over 3,000 metres of carpet for the Palazzo Versace, Queensland. After being appointed to the project by Mr Souhil, CEO of Sonland Group, we worked closely with the architects, DBI, to translate their requirements into exquisite designs. Working directly with Donatella Versace these designs were finalised, made and installed impeccably.
ABU DHABI PALACE, U.A.E. Hand picked from the worlds best rug manufacturers, TSAR was honoured to be entrusted with the creation of the rugs for Sheikh Zayed, Abu Dhabi Palace, UAE. With over 3,000 metres of carpet created and installed, the project was completed with precision and perfection.
