About joining a WebEx Support session on a Mac This guide provides special instructions for Mac users who are joining a WebEx Support session. Identify your browser and version and then follow the applicable procedures in this guide. Important: Download this document or save this link: http://support.webex.com/meetings/wbs/latest/sc/pdf/sc_join_mac.pdf. The process described in this document will require you to quit your browser. 3

Joining a support session using Safari First identify your Safari version, and then follow the appropriate procedure. Finding out your version of Safari (on page 5) Safari 6.0X or below (on page 6) Safari 6.X (on page 6) Safari 7 (on page 7) Finding out your version of Safari To find out your version of Safari: 1 Open Safari and click Safari in the upper-left-hand corner. 2 Click About Safari. The version number will appear. 5

Joining a support session using Safari Safari 6.0X or below To use Safari 6.0X or below: 1 Click here to install Java and follow the on-screen instructions. 2 After installation is complete, quit Safari (Cmd-Q). 3 After completing step 2, restart Safari and navigate to your support session again. Safari 6.X To use Safari 6.X: 1 Click here to install Java and follow the on-screen instructions. Note: If you see the Java blocked for this website button, then Java is already installed and you can skip to step 5 below. 2 After installation is complete, quit Safari (Cmd-Q). 3 Open Safari again after it has completely closed. 4 Once Safari has restarted, navigate to your support session. 5 Click Safari in the upper-left-hand corner and select Preferences. 6 Select the Security tab. 7 Click the Manage Website Settings button. 8 Select Java on the left side. 9 Select your WebEx site and set the option to Allow (no security restrictions) as shown below. 10 Click the Trust button in the pop-up. 11 Click Done. 12 Click the Java blocked for this website button on the page and click Trust. The session will start automatically. 6

Joining a support session using Safari Safari 7 To use Safari 7: 1 Click here to install Java and follow the on-screen instructions. Note: If you see the Java blocked for this website button, then Java is already installed and you can skip to step 5 below. 2 After installation is complete, quit Safari (Cmd-Q). 3 Open Safari again after it has completely closed. 4 Once Safari has restarted, navigate to your support session. 5 Click Safari in the upper-left-hand corner and select Preferences. 6 Select the Security tab. 7

Joining a support session using Safari 7 Click the Manage Website Settings button. 8 Select Java on the left side. 9 Select your WebEx site and set the option to Run in Unsafe Mode as shown below. 10 Click the Trust button in the pop-up. 11 Click Done. 12 Click the Java blocked for this website button on the page and click Trust. The session will start automatically. 8

Joining a support session using other browsers Follow the procedure described for your preferred browser: Chrome (all versions) (on page 9) Firefox (all versions) (on page 9) Chrome (all versions) Chrome on Mac OS X 10.7.3 and above does not support Java. Use Safari or Firefox instead. For more information, visit Java's website. Firefox (all versions) To use Firefox (all versions): 1 Click here to install Java and follow the on-screen instructions. 2 After installation is complete, quit Firefox (Cmd-Q). 3 After completing step 2, restart Firefox and navigate to your support session again. 9
