TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS REDIRECTS Redirects of current providers can be used in most cases. Please make sure your redirects include a place holder that allows a click counting. Furthermore you can deliver a click command for physical advertisement media to count clicks and an image counting pixel to count ad impressions. We use asynchrone JavaScript Tags, please bear that in mind when delivering the redirects. Condé Nast reserves the right to reject redirects, if the ad is tracked by more than one third party provider. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS FLASH SPECIFICATIONS Advertising media have to be delivered with respective click varibales. The use of hard coded links is undesired.. ActionScript 1 und 2: Definition of a button with relevant information in the top level of the timeline (see table on right side). ActionScript 3: banners must be checked for suitability. ActionScript 1+2 geturl on (release) (Flash version 6 and { geturl(_root.clicktag, "_blank"); } Multi-URL: For use of several clicktag variables, single clicktags have to be programmed. For distinction please add clicktag1, clicktag2 etc. to the different variables. _blank: Links to external target URL need a command _blank to generate a new site. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS HTML 5 HTML File The executive HTML5 advertising material should be created in a single.html file. None of the html-files should be named index.html. File hierarchy and folder structure The layer and folder structure should contain one level max.(scripts, images, etc.) File number and code compression To minimize the server requests the number of elements should be kept as low as possible. Animation Several concurrent animations and overlapping transparent graphics should be avoided. The use of CSS3 or javascript animations is to choose wisely with consideration for the CPU and GPU utilization. Browser compatibility and fallback Because not all desired features or libraries are supported by any browser, it should be ensured that there is a fallback JPG or GIF for those browsers, which do not support all features. The banners shall be tested by the creative agency for all common browsers. Condé Nast reserves the right to exclude certain browser from the delivery. Frameworks, libraries and namespaces HTML5 banners are delivered in a frame on the websites to prevent any conflicts with the functionalities of the website. Frameworks and libraries (eg, bootstrap) can be implemented within our frames. For the use of global Javascript variables,those should run in their own namespace or alternatively be clearly named. Furthermore the naming of HTML IDs and ID-, class -and type selectors in CSS should be unique. 13
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION HTML 5 Guidlines Guidelines of the IAB for HTML5 banners can be found here: http://www.iab.net/html5 http://www.iab.net/media/file/html5dav101.pdf Delivery The HTML5 banner should be delivered to the marketer or the media agency as a compressed zip file, which must contain all elements of the banner, except externally -loaded libraries or fonts. Within the zip archive.html file (not index.html) all integrated scripts and elements should be included and must be relatively linked. When using external hosting absolute links must be used. A redirect can be delivered alternatively. Also in this case, all the above mentioned standards regarding file size and number of files apply. 14
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION ADVERTISING WITH SOUND (POLITE BANNER) Advertising media with intitial sound is not allowed. Excepted are streaming advertising media that are set on mute from the start and require user activation by click on the speaker pictogram. Max. length is 30 sec. An easily visible audio navigation with commands Volume, Start and Stop is recommended. Sound can not be initiated by Mouse Over.
