BUILDINGS CUSTODIAN The buildings custodian is responsible for keeping the church buildings clean and orderly. In the event of weddings, funerals and other nonchurch sponsored events, the event host will be responsible for paying for the custodian s services. Church policy will dictate fees. ANTICIPATED TIME COMMITMENTS 1. Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: Minimum 25 hours per week. 2. Participating in meetings/training: Maximum two hours a month. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES 1. Facilities shall be presentable on Monday by 11 am, Thursday by 11 am, and on Saturday by 7 pm. 2. Inform Administrative Assistant when cleaning or kitchen supplies are low or when equipment or facilities need repair. 3. Clean church after all church services and functions. 4. Dust furniture in offices, reception areas, visitor center, sanctuary and entrances. 5. Vacuum offices and carpeted areas weekly, or more often if needed. Dust-mop, sweep or vacuum other areas as needed. 6. Clean/disinfect drinking fountains and telephone mouthpieces weekly. 7. Clean cobwebs from ceilings, corners, vents, fans, etc. twice monthly. 8. Thoroughly clean restrooms weekly. Check them after each event and reclean if necessary includes cleaning toilet bowls, urinals, partitions, tiled walls, mirrors and floors and refilling soap, towel and toilet paper dispensers, making sure toilet paper and paper towels are available and emptying trash and sanitary containers. 9. Clean windows and glass doors after each church event. 10. Replace light bulbs. Turn off nonrequired lights. 11. Water plants as needed. 12. Pick up litter. Police the grounds. 13. Check all areas for odors. Clean/disinfect as necessary. 14. Clean up after church-sponsored special events. 15. Clean up accidents as needed: spills, stomach upset, etc. 16. Clean, fill and straighten chair backs 17. Wipe off Dry Erase Boards 18. Clean platform throw away all paper that is not three hole punched 19. Assure that thermostats are properly set to run the proper program (heat or air) 20. Assure that all window blinds are fully open 21. Restock kitchen and bathrooms. 22. Monthly Cleaning will include: a. Clean white tables (that are set up) and counter tops b. Clean Metal Bathroom doors, auditorium doors, door handles, bathroom fixtures c. Clean glass in the interior doors d. Wipe down all countertops, kitchen, bathroom, nursery, desks, and tables that are set up e. Wipe down and disinfect microwave, fridge, freezer, ice machine 23. Quarterly cleaning will include carpet cleaning.
