By Train Main stations for the Lake are Slough and Windsor & Eton Riverside. It is also near Burnham, Taplow and Maidenhead.

CAR PARKING Please leave plenty of time to get to the venue. Car parking will be at the side of the bike course. The only access will be via the MAIN access road. Just follow the signs as you come into the venue. You will have at least a 20 minute walk to the race site, so allow yourself extra time after you have parked your car. PLEASE KEEP OFF THE BIKE COURSE and do not cross any roped-off areas. Arrival and departure is possible any time.

THE EVENT Format Triathlon Relay Up to 6 people in a team 6 laps of the course, each lap is 200m swim leg, a 5.3km cycle leg and a 1.5km run leg Timing & Chip The Timing Chip will act as a baton. It is on an ankle strap which should be passed onto the individual doing the next leg. Transition When the swimmer comes out of the water, run to transition. Once chip is on ankle of next individual then they can un-rack bike to complete bike leg. When cyclist has finished, they must go into transition to hand the timing chip to runner. Once the runner has completed, they must NOT go through finish line but peel off to give baton (chip) to participant doing the swimming leg (second round). FINAL run leg, go through finish line where team members can join to finish together.

REGISTRATION REGISTRATION Registration will take place from 08.30am in the registration marquee. Here you will collect your race pack containing all your race numbers. There will be 6 race numbers (one for each team member) that are labelled A to F, but only 1 timing chip. Please note the A to F will correspond to your name on our system, not the order in which you have to complete your legs. Packs should be collected individually rather than one team member collecting all packs on behalf of the whole team. Only competitors are allowed in transition area. You will be given a security numbered wristband attached at registration. This wristband allows access in/out of the transition area and may only be removed by crew checking your equipment on final departure from Transition. Please secure your paper number to your FRONT with four safety pins, or use a race belt. There are sticky labelled numbers for your bike and helmet. Please have these attached before entering the transition area. You will be allocated a space for your team in transition and bikes must be racked at your allocated number spot.

REGISTRATION ELECTRONIC TIMING Collect your timing chip before you leave the registration marquee. THIS ACTS AS YOUR RELAY BATON. This should be threaded through the Velcro strap and attached around your left ankle as low down as possible After each leg, this should be taken off and attached around the ankle of the next triathlete in your team. If you forget to do this, we won t have accurate timings for your team. We will endeavour to provide all timing splits, but this is not guaranteed.

KIDS EVENTS Kids & Youth events Thinking about bringing your children? We will have a Scootathlon which will be for 4-8 year olds and if your children are older there will be an individual duathlon for 9-16 year olds. Duathlon (9-16 Year Olds): Scootathlon (4-8 Year Olds): 1km Run, 5.3km Bike, 1km Run 390m Scoot, 390m Bike, 250m Run These events are free to enter, but please register on the website (include link) by Sunday 27 June.

DUATHLON The children s duathlon is a shorter version, minus the swim, of the adults triathlon course (see adult triathlon Map). The duathlon is a 3-lap multi-discipline event: - Kids will undertake 1 lap of the run course (500m out and back totalling 1km) - 1 lap around the entire of Dorney lake on the bike (5.3km total) - 1 lap of the run course before finishing under the gantry in the heart of the event village. Children must bring a bike and a helmet to be able to compete in the race. Medals will be provided for each finisher.

SCOOTATHLON The kids Scootathlon will kick off the afternoon events. Split into similar age groups, these budding triathletes will complete the 3 lap challenge swapping between disciplines after each lap. Children must bring their own scooter, bike and helmet to be able to take part. Helmets must be worn at all times The Scootathlon is a 3 lap multi discipline event: - an anti-clockwise scoot round the 390m tarmac course, - swap to the bike for another 390m ride lap - final 250m run to culminate under the finish gantry. Medals will be provided for each finisher.

BROMPTON BIKE EVENT Brompton Bike Trial Brompton Bikes are bringing down 30 bikes for some fun at the end of the day. We will be staging a Le Mans style race, where you run to a bike, unfold it, cycle a short course around the event village area (see Scootathlon map), re-fold the bike and run to the finish line. Bikes and helmets will be supplied, but we suggest you wear gloves and a long-sleeved top. Distance: 400m Bike, 250m Run to finish line This event is also free to enter, but please register on the website (include link) by Sunday 27 June.

PRIZES Prizes will be awarded to: Fastest Team, Fastest individual Runner, Cyclist, and Swimmer Scootathlon Winner, Duathlon Winner, Brompton Bike Winner

EVENT RULES Triathlon Rules No mobile phones, personal stereos, MP3 players or ipods to be used in Transition or during the event itself at any time. Your cycle helmet is to be on and fastened before you touch your bike and remain on and done up until after your bike is racked. It is forbidden to cycle in Transition. Drafting is forbidden on the bike. Drafting is cycling too closely behind another cyclist and gaining an advantage. The drafting zone is 10m, so keep at least 10m behind the cyclist in front, unless you are overtaking over a 20 second period. For more information and the latest rules, visit the BTF website.

EVENT RULES Triathlon Rules The wearing of wetsuits in triathlon is governed by British Triathlon rules and is totally dependent on a water temperature reading one hour before the event start. The likelihood is that wetsuits will be optional but we always recommend you swim in one as they help with buoyancy and warmth. We have teamed up with Zone3 to offer wetsuit day hire or outright purchase at great prices which is available here.

SAFETY Medical teams and ambulances will be on standby in case of accidents. If you see an incident, please report it to the nearest marshal who will alert the medical team. For your safety in the water, water based safety teams will be positioned along the swim course as well as shore based lifeguards. IMPORTANT: Please write any medical details on the back of your race number and put a small indelible red cross on the front of your number to indicate a known medical issue. Whether you have a medical condition or not, if you feel unwell - don t race!

EVENT NUTRITION Human Race s nutrition partner Science in Sport (SiS) will be fuelling you through your event with their great range of high performance energy products. On offer there will be: SiS GO Isotonic Energy gels available to collect at registration which deliver an easily digestible and quick supply of 22g carbohydrate for energy during exercise. SiS GO Electrolyte drink available on the run course which contains a blend of an easily digestible and quick supply of carbohydrate for energy as well as electrolytes that are required to promote optimal hydration.
