Getting to VeronaecoSTP2014...by plane Valerio Catullo Verona - Villafranca airport (www.aeroportoverona.it) is around 12km from the city center and accessible by the Aerobus service, which connects the airport with the central train station (Verona Porta Nuova). The Aerobus runs every 20 minutes, from 5:35 a.m. to 11:35 p.m., and takes 15 minutes. The airbus ticket costs 6. From the motorway A4, take the exit Verona Sud, and from the motorway A22 take the exit Verona Nord, and follow the indications to the city center. Please note that most of the central streets are restricted traffic areas (ZTL, Zona a Traffico Limitato), so we suggest you to contact your hotel for the instructions on how to reach it by the car and get permission to do it..
Getting to VeronaecoSTP2014 by train and bus Verona Porta Nuova is the main train station and the intersection of two major railways Milan-Venice and Rome-Brennero lines. You can purchase the train tickets at the stations or online on www.trenitalia.it. The Verona Porta Nuova station is a 15 minute walk to the historical city center and the Piazza Bra, where the opening ceremony will be held. Regular bus services connect the train station and the city centre, i.e. lines 11, 12, 13, 21, 22, 23, 51, 62. For more information on bus timetables and routes, check the website www.atv.verona.it, or download the Verona bus application for your smartphone. Single bus tickets valid for 60 minutes in all the urban network may be bought at the kiosks Tabaccheria ainside the railway station and around the city for a cost of 1.3. Alternatively, single drive tickets may be purchased on board using the automatic ticket machines for 1.5 (please note that the machine does not give change back). To reach the conference venue Polo Zanotto - you can catch either bus 11, 12, 13, 51 from the platform A (in front of the central station). Get off at the stop Via Venti Settembre 2/C I, and take Via dell Artigliere, which continues to Viale dell Università, and you will have Polo Zanotto on your right. To reach the meeting of the Young water professionals, you can take the bus line 21 (direction S.Giovanni Lupatoto) from the city center (Corso Cavour 32) or the central station (platform B) to the stop in Via Teodolinda 3, or the line 72 (direction Policlinico) from the city center (e.g. Piazza Cittadella 16 ) to the stop in Via da Polenta 15..
Getting around The historical center of Verona is relatively small, and you can easily get around on foot. It is the best and easiest way since the city centre is a limited traffic zone (ZTL) - an area where traffic is limited to established times and authorized persons, and monitored by cameras to detect unauthorized vehicles access and infringements. Personal safety - Verona centre is safe, nevertheless we recommend to use common sense, keeping an eye on your belongings when in crowds. Shop opening hours Shops in the city center are opened from 9:30 am to 8:00 pm. Supermarkets are opened from 8:30 am to 8:00 pm.
