3 VISITING MUGELLO Tuscany is a region in central Italy with an area of about 23,000 square kilometres and a population of about 3.8 million inhabitants. The regional capital is Florence (Firenze). Tuscany is known for its landscapes, traditions, history, artistic legacy and its influence on high culture. It is regarded as the birthplace of the Renaissance and has been home to many figures influential in the history of art and science, and contain well-known museums such as the Uffiizi and the Pitti Palace. Tuscany produces wines, including Chianti, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Morellino di Scansano and Brunello di Montalcino. Mugello is happily immersed in the natural amphitheatre of the Tuscan hills near Florence and is a pearl set in a region rich in history, art and culture.

The layout of the track is 5,245 meters long, and runs for 14 turns. In 1988 the circuit was bought by Ferrari, who began the work of restructuring the system, providing it with the best existing infrastructure and updating it continually, even while maintaining the design of the track, which is very challenging and rewarding for the riders.
