Refer to Disabling the SIR System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause air bag deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs. Remove the IP compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Storage Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console. Remove the right sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console. Remove the DIM module from the bracket. Refer to Instrument Panel Module Replacement in Body Control System. Remove the rear two DIM module bracket screws. Reposition the DIM module bracket to gain access to the air inlet actuator.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

Tighten Tighten the fasteners to 1.4 Nm (12 lb in). Install the electrical connector to the air inlet actuator. Position the DIM module bracket to its original position. Install the rear two DIM module bracket retaining screws. Tighten Tighten the fasteners to 1.4 Nm (12 lb in). Install the DIM module into the bracket. Refer to Instrument Panel Module Replacement in Body Control System. Install the right sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console. Install the IP compartment. Important: The left air temperature actuator does not need to be removed in order to remove the mode actuator. The left air temperature actuator is removed in the graphic in order to show the screw locations. Remove the mode actuator retaining screws (1). Remove the mode actuator.

Lubricate the pivots on the mode door levers and the channels on the mode actuator cam before assembling.

Remove both halves of the extension duct (2) from the rear HVAC assembly.

Install the fasteners (1) that retain the rear HVAC blower motor assembly (2) to the IP center support bracket. Tighten Torque fasteners to 2 Nm (18 lb in).

Install the fasteners in order to hold the rear extension duct to the rear HVAC assembly. Tighten Torque fasteners to 1.4 Nm (12 lb in). Install the Auxiliary Blower Motor and IP Center Support Bracket assembly into the vehicle. Refer to Auxiliary Blower Motor Replacement in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
