Welcome Dear Prospective Students/Parents/Guardians Welcome to the College of West Anglia and to the Department of Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy. Congratulations on gaining an offer of a place on one of our study programmes. To prepare you for your time at college we have produced this pack to allow you to start planning for September. Hopefully you will find all the information you will need but should you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us. Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy has departments at our two main campuses in King s Lynn and Wisbech. Our specialist facilities and salons are impressive and the most advanced on offer in the region. We have and continue to enjoy huge success in national and World Skills competitions. As you will appreciate, there are fees involved with all qualifications. All courses carry an annual fee of 75, (non-refundable) which covers materials and subject specialist resources, and an administration fee (the cost of any trips is not included). If you are aged 19 and over on the 31 August 2016 please contact Student Services regarding fees. If you are eligible as a 19+ fully funded learner the College will provide necessary items of kit only. You are welcome to purchase any additional items should you wish. It is important that you use this pack and that you order your kit, uniform and book as soon as possible to ensure that you are fully prepared for your course starting in September 2016. A letter will be sent to you in early August with information about the start of your course, including date and time, where you will need to go and what you need to bring with you. Unless you are a Level 3 learner the term will begin with a course induction week. This will be a mixture of form filling, course familiarisation and specialist studies. It is essential that you bring in all examination result slips or certificates during the course induction week so that we can ensure you are on the correct course. Finally we would like to take this opportunity to wish you a very happy and successful time at the College of West Anglia. Some of you are waiting on examination results as an entry requirement and so to all of you, the very best of luck in your studies. Should exams not go as well as planned, please call us as soon as possible so that we can advise you of the options available. We look forward to seeing you in September. Carole Gallagher Programme Manager Hair and Beauty 5
