4 Introduction The Yorkshire College of Beauty have a vast selection of competitively priced short courses using leading brands within the industry which are taught to the highest standards. We offer a range of courses that will advance existing therapists skills and train you in the newest treatments to the industry. Our short courses will boost your knowledge and provide you with a wider range of treatments to offer to your clients. If you are interested in breaking into the beauty industry this is an excellent way to get you started which can lead you into our full and part time courses. 5 Nail Enhancement Beginners Course A four day course followed by a one day exam, designed to give you a specialist range of treatment knowledge and skills in nail technology. You can choose from Liquid and powder or gel and a full Entity nail enhancement kit will be needed to take part in the course. Fully accredited training by Entity at The Yorkshire College of Beauty. Learners will gain knowledge about the products including health & safety, plus covering nail anatomy and nail theory. Practical will cover basic manicure, application of tips and product and maintenance of the nailsrebalance/ in fill. Certification provided once training has been completed. Pre requisites: Nail enhancement qualification/certification. Please note a beauty uniform is to be worn on the training course along with appropriate flat black shoes. 5.

6 Nail Enhancement Conversion Course A one day course, designed for nail technicians who either want to refresh their skills or convert from one system to another. You can choose from Liquid and powder or gel and a full Entity nail enhancement kit will be needed to take part in the course. Fully accredited training by Entity at The Yorkshire College of Beauty. Learners will refresh their knowledge on the products including health & safety, plus covering nail anatomy and nail theory. Practical will cover application of tips and product and maintenance of the nails-rebalance/in fill. Certification provided once training has been completed. Pre Requisites: None Please note either a beauty/ nail technician uniform or a plain black t-shirt and trousers are to be worn on the course along with appropriate flat black shoes. 6.

7 Gelaze UV Gel Polish A one day course designed to add to the perfect nail technician skills using Gelaze The creators of China Glaze. It is a unique gel system that is a Gel-n-Base in One, an innovative 100% gel polish that includes base coat. Fewer steps for longer wear and remains chip-free with long-lasting shine. A full Gelaze kit will need to be purchased for the course. Fully accredited training at The Yorkshire College of Beauty. Learn the complete Gelaze system through theory and practical including nail anatomy, sanitation, science and technology of Gelaze and UV light, Gelaze application and aftercare and removal of product. Certification provided once training has been completed. Pre Requisites: Level 2 Beauty Therapy or a manicure/pedicure qualification. 8 Kooky Fashionista Nail Wraps A 3 hour workshop on how to apply nail art in a foil wrap! These KOOKY FASHIONISTA wraps have all the trendy designs that can complete any manicure or pedicure treatment. They are heavy duty, chip free and easy to apply. All equipment will be provided on the day by The Yorkshire College of Beauty. Fully accredited training at The Yorkshire College of Beauty. Learn the Health and safety, contra-indications/contraactions to the treatment, how to prepare, apply, maintain and remove the wraps. Certification provided once training has been completed. Pre Requisites: Level 2 in Beauty Therapy or a manicure/pedicure qualification. Please note either a beauty/ nail technician uniform or a plain black t-shirt and trousers are to be worn on the course along with appropriate flat black shoes. 8.

9 Threading A one day course followed by a half day exam. This threading course focuses on how to achieve the perfect brow shape as well as the removal of hair from the face and body using the ancient art of eyebrow Threading. A kit will be included within the price of the course. Fully accredited training by The Yorkshire College of Beauty. Learners will gain knowledge on how to create the perfect shaped brow to suit individual clients face shape and how to remove hair perfectly from the face and body. Practice will also take place on own brows, upper lip and face. A second half day will be set in which two models will be required to complete treatments in which your skills will be tested. Certification provided once training has been completed. Pre Requisites: None, However previous eyebrow treatment qualifications or level 2 Beauty Therapy qualification will help with the partaking of this course. 10 Mylash Professional Mylash professional is a traditional lash on lash eyelash extension treatment which can last up to three months. Different looks can be easily achieved with Mylash professional eyelash extensions; from a natural look to a full, glamorous look. A wide range of widths, lengths and curls are available to suit every lash type. It is a one day course and a kit will need to be purchased through The Yorkshire College of Beauty. Fully accredited training with Mylash by The Yorkshire College of Beauty. Learners will be expected to carry out the treatment on each other with support and guidance from the tutor. Upon completing the course you will understand and be able to perform the procedure required for Mylash professional eyelash extensions. Certification provided once training has been completed. Pre Requisites: Level 2 Beauty Therapy or a certified eye treatment qualification. Please note a beauty uniform is to be worn on the course along with appropriate flat black shoes. 10.

11 Mylash Express Mylash express is a fast semi-permanent eyelash extension treatment which takes only 30 minutes to perform. Individual lashes are applied to more than one natural lash at a time. The look is similar to lash on lash treatments without the two hour appointment. The service can be offered in beauty salons and by a mobile therapist. It is a one day course and a kit will need to be purchased through The Yorkshire College of Beauty. Fully accredited training with Mylash by The Yorkshire College of Beauty. Learners will be expected to carry out the treatment on each other with support and guidance from the tutor. Upon completing the course you will understand and be able to perform the procedure required for Mylash express eyelash extensions. Certification provided once training has been completed. 12 Mybrow 12. A one day course in the ideal eyebrow treatment for precision, shape and definition, tailored individually to the client. Mybrow is a treatment comprising tinting, shape defining, waxing, trimming, threading, tweezing and cosmetic enhancement to create highly defined, perfectly shaped eyebrows. A kit will need to be purchased to complete the course. Fully accredited training with Mybrows by The Yorkshire College of Beauty. With the Mybrows treatment. Learners will be expected to carry out the treatment on each other with support and guidance from the tutor. Upon completing the course you will understand and be able to perform the procedure required for Mybrows. Certification provided once training has been completed. 13 Lash Lift A course in the new Lash Lift system which is a more modern take on lash perming but with a lot less mess! We use brand new shields that prevent the over curling of lashes therefore giving a more natural but eye catching curl! A Salon System Lash Lift kit will be provided by The Yorkshire College of Beauty. Fully accredited training by The Yorkshire College of Beauty. Learners will gain knowledge on health and safety, contra-indications and contra actions to the treatment, product and treatment know how, how to perform the Lash Lift system step by step and how to maintain the ultimate curl. Certification provided once training has been completed. Pre Requisites: Level 2 in Beauty Therapy. 14 Spray Tanning A one day course giving you the knowledge and skills required to perform the perfect spray tan. ST.TROPEZ continues to lead the way in perfecting the art of skin finishing, as seen at London and Paris fashion Weeks. Learn the latest tanning techniques to tailor make your tan to suit the individual clients need and skin tone. Fully accredited training by The Yorkshire College of Beauty. Learners will gain a deep understanding of how ST.TROPEZ tan works, contra-indications to look for, inside secrets, tips and tricks that ensure the flawless fake tan, how to prepare, apply and maintain the perfect tan and maintenance of your spray tan equipment. Certification provided once training has been completed. 15 Female Intimate Waxing A one day course followed by a half day exam. This Intimate waxing course will take you to the next step in waxing. On this programme you will learn how to perfect your technique with waxing and perform all types of intimate waxing. The equipment will be provided by The Yorkshire College of Beauty. Fully accredited training by The Yorkshire College of Beauty. Therapists will need a waxing qualification to take part in this course. Learners will gain knowledge about all four methods of intimate waxing: Californian, Brazilian, Hollywood and Playboy. You will be expected to receive the treatments yourself during the first day of practice as well as performing the waxing on others. Then 2 models will also be required for the exam. Certification provided once training has been completed. Pre Requisites: Level 2 in Beauty Therapy. 16 Ear Candling A one day course on the ancient therapy of ear candling used in healing rituals. The equipment will be provided by The Yorkshire College of Beauty. Fully accredited training by The Yorkshire College of Beauty. Learners will learn about the psychological and physical benefits of ear candling and how to carry out the treatment. Certification provided once training has been completed. Pre requisites: None Please note a beauty uniform is to be worn on the training course along with appropriate flat black shoes. 16.

17 Hot Stone Therapy A one day course, that will give you valuable insight into the healing properties of stone therapy. The equipment will be provided by The Yorkshire College of Beauty. Fully accredited training by The Yorkshire College of Beauty Therapy. Learners will gain knowledge about the history of stone therapy, its physical effects and the origins of the stones used for massage. Therapists will require a qualification in massage to take part on this course. Certification provided once training has been completed. Pre Requisites: Level 3 in Beauty Therapy or a certified massage qualification. Please note a beauty uniform is to be worn on the course along with appropriate flat black shoes. 17.

18 Indian Head Massage A one day course based on the traditional and specialised Indian Head Massage techniques by using a variety of massage movements. The Indian Head Massage works on the energy of chakras and is a great way of relieving stress and its effects on the systems of the body and scalp condition. Equipment is provided by The Yorkshire College of Beauty. Fully accredited training by The Yorkshire College of Beauty. Learners will learn about the psychological and physical benefits of Indian Head massage and how to carry out the treatment. Tension is relieved through relaxation of the muscles, and improved circulation to the brain helps to clear the mind and improve hair and scalp conditions. Certification provided once training has been completed. Pre Requisites: Level 3 in Beauty Therapy or a certified massage qualification. 19 Day & Evening Make-up A one day course which will provide a comprehensive overview of day and evening make-up application for day and evening make-up. This course lays the basic foundations that can lead you into our advanced makeup and media make-up course that The Yorkshire College of Beauty have to offer. A professional make-up kit will be included in the cost. Health & Safety, basic skincare and skin analysis, consultation including contra-indications and contra-actions, determining face, eye and lip shapes, corrective techniques, contouring and highlighting techniques, make-up techniques for eyes, lips and cheeks plus homecare and aftercare for make-up. Certification provided once training has been completed. 20 LEVEL 3 AWARD IN ASSESSING VOCATIONALLY RELATED ACHIEVEMENT 20. This is a tailor made course to enable you to become a competent and skilful assessor within a vocationally related teaching environment. This will enable candidates to plan, assess, observe and make competent decisions when assessing the work of others within a vocational qualification. The training course is delivered over a 4 session programme that will be tailored to fit around your teaching commitments. In the first 2 days we will deliver all the information that is needed to give you the skills and knowledge to be an assessor. You will then be expected to put this into practice so that once competent, a 3rd session can be arranged to carry out an observation of your assessment process. In your 4th and final session, all work and criteria will be checked and a professional discussion will be held to confirm all knowledge of the assessment process. Certification will be approved once training has been completed and verified. Pre Requisites: You will need to be vocationally competent and within a teaching environment and ready to start assessing. Two candidates will be needed for you to assess.

21 LEVEL 3 AWARD IN ASSESSING COMPETENCE IN THE WORK ENVIRONMENT This is a tailor made course to enable you to become a competent and skilful assessor within a working environment. This will enable candidates to plan, assess, observe and make competent decisions when assessing the work of others within the workplace in relation to a vocational qualification. The training course is delivered over a 4 session programme that will be tailored to fit around your working commitments. In the first 2 days we will deliver all the information that is needed to give you the skills and knowledge to be an assessor. You will then be expected to put this into practice so that once competent, a 3rd session can be arranged to carry out an observation of your assessment process in the workplace. In your 4th and final session, all work and criteria will be checked and a professional discussion will be held to confirm all knowledge of the assessment process. Certification will be approved once training has been completed and verified. Pre Requisites: You will need to be vocationally competent and within your vocational workplace and ready to start assessing. Two candidates will be needed for you to assess. 21.
