Why invest in Eindhoven region? The answer is very simple and diverse: Good business climate, with lots of space to grow. Leader in open innovation. Unique partnership between us and our hinterland. An airport with lots transshipment of raw materials and goods. Large foreign companies/ transnational corporations. For example ASML. Many business parks with strategic positions. An excellent location: at the heart of Benelux. Good links to Belgium and Germany. Superior education. Leader in technology. Discover a world of new ideas.. Eindhoven. Because of all these reasons, Eindhoven region is attractive to business men and is an excellent area to start up a business or to invest in. Made By: Loes Huijbers, Sinead Shih TG3A

Men in Suits Eindhoven houses many different Business Parks, under which the internationally orientated and well developed Flight Forum and High Tech Campus. These parks house several well known and import companies. The Eindhoven region is the home of 278 foreign-owned companies, employing a total of over 19,000 people. And already four new business parks are being planned; these will be located in Meerhoven to the west of the city Eindhoven. The Flight Forum is mainly intended for aviation, technology and internationally orientated companies e.g. ASML. These companies are mainly capital-intensive, and semi-manufactures. The outbound and inbound of goods of these companies are transported via this mainport. This mainport is the Eindhoven Airport. The transshipment of goods is one of the main features at this airport, as it is so close to the Flight Forum. The Lake Forum will be intended for crafts, services, production and trading fields. This will be an area where goods and ideas will be exchanged with our hinterland, making Eindhoven a globalised and transnational region. 2010 The Land Forum will be built for business and office development purposes.

The Three Pillars There are 3 main sectors in Eindhoven that are strong and very important in the Netherlands. Here are some key facts. The Pillars are all very internationally orientated, and well known. Food & Nutrition One-fifth of all knowledge workers in the Netherlands, a total of 10,000, work in this sector. In this sector, good opportunities are offered because we have excellent logistic systems and knowledge of ingredients. Perishables are easily transported by frieght carriers to other countries or to other regions by plane, namely by the Eindhoven airport. High Tech Systems & Materials This sector, has 56,000 employees (a quarter of the total number of employed people in the Netherlands) Many Business parks are mainly intended for this sector, e.g. High Tech Campus, Flight forum (as mentioned in Men in Suits ) Raw materials and goods are easily transported to other countries because the locations of these parks are close to Eindhoven airport. The TUE is a world wide known technological school which produces excellent students for this sector. Many transnational corporations make Eindhoven a globalised area. Medical Systems & Life Sciences There are many good companies such as the Philips Medical Systems and Organon, these companies make the third pillar, Medical Systems & Life Sciences. Mainly based on molecular imaging and mechatronics for medical purposes. The Eindhoven airport uses freight carriers to transport medication, organs, and urgent parts.

Small schools, huge possibilities TU/e: The technical university of Eindhoven, it belongs to the best universities in the Netherlands. It is the best university in the Netherlands, when it comes to computer science. At the Technical university there are: 11 bachelor studies 20 Master studies 8 designer studies Some of the studies are in English. And the TU even offers language courses, that makes it attractive for people from foreign countries, because they can get courses in the Dutch language. The technical university has a lot of different departments in which also research is done, for example Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences. Dutch students are also welcome here, as the students are taught in the English language, at the end of their studies, they will receive an IB-diploma, this is very useful for their future as there are many foreign companies. The language English has become quite important in the Eindhoven region Bilingual Education: There are now many schools in Eindhoven that offer bilingual education, e.g. Stedelijk College, Sondervick College. Here students are taught to be more international and study in an globalised atmosphere. The students that these schools produce have a good education, are very internationally orientated, they are the future and make Eindhoven an excellent place to invest in. Fontys: It isn t a university, but an academy. The studies that Fontys offer are ICT, sports, engineering but also health care and economics, marketing and art, etc. It has different locations, mostly spread over the south of the Netherlands. Design academy: The design academy is for all the people that really want to achieve something with art. You can do bachelor and master studies at the design academy in Eindhoven. The international school: If an entire foreign family moved to Eindhoven to do business, than the children have to go to a school as well, for them there is the international school. Of course native 2010
