8 Market Applications Industry & Technology E ach day our world evolves as technology and demands push us to new horizons. Cable in flat configurations has long been viewed as low end and cheap. At HCM, just the opposite is true. HCM now produces a variety of flat ribbon products to service the high speed test and measurement markets as well as medical and robotic type applications. Medical Automotive

High Speed Ribbon Cable HCM High Speed Ribbon Cable Delivering today s information at tomorrow's speed may sound like a cliché, but to HCM it s a must for survival in today s technology-driven world. Not long ago it was suggested that copper was stretched to it s maximum performance and it would be impossible to go any faster or over longer lengths. 9 Today, copper is still the preferred choice in standard and advanced interconnect applications. Lower time delays, lower in pair skew and lower pair-to-pair skew numbers are exceeding market expectations. Copper gauges continue to get smaller with demands for smaller and more flexible cable solutions. HCM offers a variety of low skew, high speed cables for specific cabling needs. The following pages offer a glimpse of some of our flat ribbon products used in high speed applications. For more information please contact us for the very latest in high speed cable solutions.

Flat Ribbon Cable HCM Flat Ribbon Cable The process for making great flat cable is simple. Start with the best materials used with the best tools. We run to the tightest tolerances in the industry with regards to span and width of our cables. In flat cables, the key to low cost termination is ease of the termination during the IDC process with consideration to minimize scrap. 13 With HCM cable you can feel confident designing in our cable to meet your needs for both electrical as well as physical performance. When faced with design issues for electrical performance, Hitachi has a variety of compounds to meet your specific electrical needs. We have a history of producing cable from low end point to point applications to high speed transmission cables. Over a decade ago, HCM was the first to introduce MCX Ribbon X to the market. Since that time we have been challenged to constantly refine our product to make it better, faster and more affordable. The following pages offer an overview of our flat ribbon products. The second half of this catalog focuses on round electronic cables. Please check out our web site for additional cable offerings. www. hcm.hitachi.com

High Speed Round Cable HCM Round Cable Over the past two decades our factory has invested millions of dollars to improve our ability to make cutting edge products. The following pages are an overview of our standard products and capabilities. 33 Because we pride ourselves in custom cables for our customers, we could not possibly list all of the cables we build here in this catalog. From medical to automotive we have helped design cables that help our society keep moving. Airbags, X-Ray, security systems, CCD dental cameras, scanners, PC s, network devices, wireless applications, broadcast media and more. From Fortune 100 to the local start up company, we can help you with your cable needs. Obsession with making great electronic cable goes beyond this catalog. It is a drive we have to provide cables that are more flexible, smaller in diameter, lower in skew, more stable in impedance with the lowest possible attenuation and cross-talk than any one else in the industry.
