What Monkton can offer you.. Summer Holiday Activity Camp The individuality of our childcare programme at Monkton is the key to our success. We offer flexible childcare for parents, with a fun and stimulating environment for the children. We pride ourselves on offering a tailor made programme of activities to suit the dynamics of the children each day. Choice is the key for the children on our Camps; our leaders design each session around the children s interests and abilities, and ensure that an emphasis is placed on promoting self confidence and self expression, with of course a large helping of fun! Monkton Minis Children aged 4 to 8 years can enjoy meeting new friends in this safe and friendly environment. Our highly qualified staff offer a warm welcome and high standard of care. Daily activities include arts and crafts, parachute games, creative cooking sessions, together with outdoor play in our wooded copse. Each week there will be a theme day, when Minis will be invited to join the staff for a dressing up competition, as well as exploring other creative opportunities related to the theme. Monkton Muckers Children aged 8 to 14 years are welcome to come along and meet children of a similar age, and enjoy fun days packed with activities. Whether they like sports, arts and crafts, drama and dance, Monkton can offer it all. Activities include treasure hunts, obstacle courses, benchball, dodgeball, tennis, trampolining and much more!!
Daily Camp Activities Our Day.. Minis and Muckers are the ideal solution for working parents during the holidays. Drop off time starts at 8.30am with pick up any time before 5.45pm. Activities will vary daily depending on the weather, energy levels of the children and the group dynamics. Morning sessions begin at 8.30am with pick up at 1.15pm, afternoon sessions begin at 1.15pm and finish at 5.45pm. Children must be signed in at the start of the day and signed out at the end of the day by an authorised adult. If your child is allowed to travel to and from Monkton independently we will require written authorisation. Minis 13 th July to 26 th August aged 4 8 yrs 8.30am till 5.45pm Join us this summer for lots of fun and exciting experiences on Monkton Minis. Our arts and crafts differ each week and are based around a variety of themes. On our very popular minibeasts week, we will be having a surprise visit from our friends at the hide for an afternoon; Mildred the millipede and Bertha the tree frog! We plan to make butterfly cakes and conduct a bug trail. We are also planning a seaside theme when we will be making giant sandcastles, a mini jelly aquarium, and having a teddy bears picnic in the sunshine. Other themes planned this summer include, superheroes, our pets, a week at the carnival, and around the world. Activities will include treasure hunts, a mini beach set up, face painting, giant bubble making and, of course, a daily fun swim in our indoor heated pool. 33.00 per day A 10% discount is available when booking your child in for five consecutive days. Muckers 13 th July to 26 th August aged 8 14 yrs 8.30am till 5.45pm For the older children entertainment is the key. Each day at Monkton is different, we like to engage the children s imagination with lots of variety and choices about the type of activity they like to do. We offer arts, sports, a giant 30 metre long water slide, raft racing, dodge ball, trampolining, jewellery making, fashion shows, treasure hunts, as well as fun swim sessions in our indoor pool with the ever popular Wibit inflatable obstacle course. Our experienced leaders are always on hand with new ideas and enthusiasm, helping the children to make the most of every day. 33.00 per day A 10% discount is available when booking your child in for five consecutive days.
Activity Courses Come Bake with Us 8 th and 9 th August aged 10 14 yrs 9.30am to 4.00pm Join us this summer to bake up a storm! This workshop is designed help the children learn different cooking techniques whilst introducing them to new flavours and exciting ingredients. This summer the children will learn to fold, whisk, and pipe as well as learning frosting techniques. Our two day menu plan includes banana muffins, chocolate chunk cookies, chocolate brownies, the finale will be a beautiful red velvet cake which the children can bring home to enjoy with the family. Our experienced chef aims to teach the children fun facts about nutrition, and provide them with a few skills that will last a lifetime, all in an inspirational environment. 79.00 per course Water Polo 10 th to 12 th August aged 8 15 yrs 1.00pm to 4.00pm Join us for three afternoons of fun in the water, with this team based water sport. During each afternoon session the children will get the opportunity to develop both their swimming skills and water polo skills, learning to shoot, pass and defend. Each session is taught through drills and match play. Water polo is an excellent activity for both boys and girls. To take part it is essential you are able to swim 50 metres and can tread water for at least 2 minutes. 75.00 per course Matilda the Musical Drama Workshop 15 th to 18 th August aged 7-15 yrs 10.00am to 4.00pm Spend four days working with a professional director on extracts from the multi award winning hit Matilda The Musical based on Roald Dahl s inspired book. Matilda is the story of an extraordinary little girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny. We will work on script, songs and dances to produce our very own mini version with a performance for family and friends in the fully equipped theatre on the last day. Suitable for all Revolting Children aged 7-15. No experience necessary, just bring your imagination, energy and enthusiasm. 115.00 per course Monkton Swim Camp 30 th August to 1 st September aged 11 15 yrs 10.00am to 4.00pm Monkton Swim Camp is back for 2016. The 3 day camp is aimed at swimmers who wish to push their ability to the next level. Focus is on technique with pool and dry land training. Attendees will have their skills analysed individually by coaching staff who will provide guidance on stroke, technique and nutrition. The course is aimed at those girls and boys who currently swim at pre competition or competition level. 169.00 per course Parent Guide If you have chosen an activity course that does not start at 8.30am or finish at 5.45pm, then an early and late stay can be booked on Minis and Muckers for an additional 6.50 per day.
Terms and Conditions Bookings and Payment Credit and Debit card bookings can be made by telephone on 01225 721114 or 721206. Joining instructions for all activities will be issued only on receipt of payment. Places will not be held without payment. Monkton Leisure s procedures and policies for dealing with Complaints, Safeguarding, Behaviour Management, Sickness and Equal Opportunities are available on request. Whilst every effort is made to avoid changes to the programme, Monkton Leisure reserves the right to withdraw or amend any part of the programme without prior notice. Cancellations In the event of a cancellation 2 weeks notice must be given and a 10 administration charge will be deducted. 50% of the fees will be refunded if a booking is cancelled between 2 weeks and 48 hours. If a cancellation is made 48 hours before the booking the full fee is forfeited. If the School requires a child to leave for reasons of conduct, the parent/guardian will remain liable for the whole fee. In the event of cancellation due to illness, Monkton will offer you a credit for the full amount paid which must be taken during the next holiday period. We do not offer refunds for sickness. Late Collection A charge will be made for late collection. For each 15 minutes a fee of 10.00 will be charged to cover our costs. If we cannot contact either the parent/guardian by 6.15pm then we will contact Social Services to advise that we have an uncollected child. Illnesses and Medication If a child becomes ill during the day, staff will inform parents or an emergency contact to collect the child immediately. Any child who is ill or suffered from sickness or diarrhoea in the previous 48 hrs must not attend the holiday camp. When making a booking it is essential to please ensure that you declare any medical condition that may affect the child s participation in any activity. Staff will only administer medicine prescribed by the doctor, please ensure that as the parent/guardian you fill in the appropriate Medical Form on registration, and that the medication is within its expiry date. In an emergency staff will administer appropriate treatment provided we have been informed. By signing the Terms and Conditions you are agreeing to this treatment unless written objection is received notifying Monkton Leisure to the contrary. Booking Notes There is a strict age range for all activities. Children should wear comfortable clothes, trainers and bring a packed lunch if staying for the whole day. There are machines dispensing cold drinks and snacks. A member of staff will supervise the children at lunchtime. Monkton reserves the right to exclude a child from the holiday camp if in our opinion that child s presence is having a detrimental effect on the rest of the group. Photography Please note that occasionally photographs are taken of the children during the Activity Camps that maybe used in future brochures or in promotional material. If you wish your child to be exempt from photographs please call the office on 01225 721114 and we will ensure that your wishes are adhered to. Sun Cream We recommend that all children bring a sun hat/cap for protection against the sun. Sun Cream, in a named plastic bag, can also be brought and given to the leader on arrival. Children on our Camps will be reminded to apply sun cream at regular intervals. Children with Special Needs We would very much appreciate if parents of children with special needs could contact Monkton Leisure s office so we can discuss how best we can accommodate the child and which (if any) special arrangements can and need to be put into place. Valuables We ask that valuable items are left at home i.e., ipods, handheld gaming consoles etc. Monkton cannot be held responsible for any items of value that are brought onto the premises.
