ACSC REGISTRATION ----- ACSC REGISTRATION FALL 2013 ACSC REGISTRATION IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER REGISTRATION BEGINS THIS WEEKEND AT GIANT EAGLE HALLWAY Check out the dates and the times at the bottom of the page - PRICES FOR 2013 - The fee for 2013 will be $35.00 Tenderfoot fee will be $25.00 includes T-Shirt Here is some information you need to know. REGISTRATION of your children to play ACSC is a simple process for you. But after you REGISTER then it becomes our responsibility to make sure everything runs smoothly and in a timely manner. Let us explain. Our board meets once a month and we have a yearly schedule that we follow so your children will have a great soccer experience. We anticipate 400 players, 30-35 teams and head coaches. When REGISTRATION is over our team selection committee begins to place all the children on teams according to our criteria. Another committee begins to look for coaches for all these teams. The most important thing you can do to help us achieve our goal is to REGISTER your children on one of the two weekends in May or two weekends in June or by mail, postmarked no later than June 15 th. What happens if you don t REGISTER at this time? A number of things, but the most meaningful to you is there is a $15 late fee from June 16 th through June 30 th. The most meaningful to us is it slows down our process of selecting teams and selecting coaches so we can begin our season on time. Uniforms and equipment need to be ordered. One final and very important point. You must register in person or mailed a registration postmarked no later than June 30th. Our purpose for this is not to prohibit a child from playing. We simply cannot effectively process registrations after June 30 th. LATE REGISTRATION MAY EFFECT WHICH TEAM YOUR CHILD PLAYS ON. REGISTRATION DATES: MAY 18 th (12:00 pm-4:00 pm), MAY 19 th (12:00 am-4:00 pm) MAY 25 th (12:00 am-4:00 pm), JUNE 14 th (5:00 pm-8:00 pm), JUNE 15 th (10:00 pm-4:00 pm) LAST DAY...JUNE 30 th (12:00 pm-4:00 pm)

ACSC REGISTRATION DATES At Buckeye Giant Eagle UNIFORMS for 2013 ACSC S traditional gold and white reversible jerseys will be required for all soccer players U-8 and above. New jerseys can be purchased at: TRAP S - 528 W. State Street, 330-821-7733. Orders for the uniforms can be placed at registration. However, pick up and payment for your orders will be at TRAP S after July 31st. The cost of a jersey is $18.95 for youth sizes and $20.95 for adult sizes. The required gold and white socks can be purchased at TRAP S for $5.00 per pair. REQUIRED EQUIPMENT Shin guards are mandatory for all ages. Players are required to have plain black shorts, plain white tube socks and white jersey if you are the home team. Black shorts, gold socks and gold jersey if you are the away team. The rationale for standard uniform colors is to recognize and clearly distinguish players and sides for the referees. Goalkeepers are the only players required to wear a different color jersey which will be furnished. SAT. MAY 18...12:00 pm - 4:00 pm SUN. MAY 19...12:00 am - 4:00 pm SAT. TENDERFOOT SOCCER THE TENDERFOOT REGISTRATION FORM IS A DIFFERENT FORM (BLUE FORM) AND MAY BE PICKED UP IN THE HALLWAY OUTSIDE OF GIANT EAGLE ON THE DATES BELOW. 2013TENDERFOOT SEASON Remember to sign up your 4 and 5 year olds for the great non-competitive introduction to soccer. Tenderfoot soccer allows the younger group to gain some basic concepts from the game of soccer. It provides a great opportunity for the beginning development of a team sport. Tenderfoot soccer is played for eight weeks on Saturday. There are no practices and you get a really cool team shirt. Parents get to coach and cheer their little ones as they kick, run and score their goals. It really is a great way to spend a Saturday morning. Sign ups can be completed outside the Giant Eagle on May 18th, 19th, 25th, and June 14th, 15th & 30th or by mail. If you have any questions please call, Will Casterlow at 330-244-3250 or Tom Redd at 330-823-6206 See you at the field. The Tenderfoot soccer fee is $25.00, which includes a team T-shirt. Everyone that registers will be placed on a team and will be notified in mid-august by mail. There will be a parent meeting at the front pavilion at Butler-Rodman August 24th. At this meeting you will receive your child s team information, T-shirt and schedule. The first Tenderfoot games start August 31th. Dear Soccer Community, Please let me extend my thanks for our first ever spring season with Alliance Community Soccer Club. A.C.S.C. had 190 players registered, many who got the opportunity to play soccer in the spring that can t play in the fall. Our board members feel strongly that having this additional spring season provides kids that love the game of soccer the chance to play more throughout the year. Most of all to have fun and learn the concept and the rules of the game and also improve their skills and learn how to play as a team. As President, Board Member and Coach of A.C.S.C, I see youth soccer growing more and more ever year and there is nothing more exciting to me than to see A.C.S.C. continue to grow. It is a privilege and honor to work with the youth from the surrounding areas to teach the game that I love. I also want to thank all of board members, coaches and Alliance Parks Dept. who dedicate their time every week to making sure everything runs smoothly. It truly is a community effort to keep the club moving forward. From the President and all the board members, we can t wait to see all players, coaches and their parents this fall and spring. We are glad to support your program and keeping your Sports Turf Healthy!! As a member of the ACSC club we will make a $20.00 donation on your behalf to the ACSC with a purchase of one of our lawn care programs for your home lawn. COACHES WANTED ASCS is prepared to offer your children the opportunity to play soccer here in Alliance. For this reality to be successful we need the help of you the parents. Each year we must find a parent that is willing to spend some time coaching a youth soccer team. When August 1st rolls around we would like to have all our coaches in place so we don t have to cancel any teams. Please take some time after you register your child to consider giving no more than 2-4 hours a week for 2-3 months and coach a team. Your help will help us provide your child with a fun-filled soccer experience. Please check the coach tab line on your child s registration form and we look forward to working with you. Thank You, Director of Coaches, Brian Simeone. REFEREES NEEDED ASCS is looking for referees for the upcoming fall soccer season. You must be 14 years of age and willing to work 2-4 hours on Saturday mornings in August, September and October. Please contact Brian Simeone 330-823-6535 or Jason Miller 330-206-7266. The pay is pretty good. 4

From the Registrar In an attempt to clear up some common questions that we get every year it is important to read and keep handy the information in this newsletter. A lot of basic information is printed within these pages, including important phone numbers and names of people who can help. You can also stop by the registration table during the scheduled registration times and someone there will answer any other questions you may have, if we can. One of the most important things is to register early and fill out, completely, a registration form for each of your children that will be playing this year. Remember we have a different registration form for Tenderfoot (It is a Blue Form). The sooner we have your child registered the better it will be for team selection, coaches and scheduling. Also, only money for registration will be collected by the club, no money for equipment, sock or jerseys will be accepted at registration. Most people want to know about practice and game scheduling. Games are on Saturdays, from August 24th through October 26th. The games are played between 8:30 am to around 1:00 pm at either Butler Rodman Park (T-foot, U-8 & U-10) or the field next to Regina Coeli Church (for U-14 boys & girls). Practices are scheduled by your childs coach, who will usually have a meeting with the parents as soon as they receive their roster of players from the selection committees at the end of July. Coaches generally schedule practices in the evening once or twice a week, but it is up to them. Please wait to hear from your childs coach regarding practices and your teams games around the last week of July or the first week of August. * TEAM CRITERIA * In years past the ACSC Team Selection reps went to great lengths to attempt to place children on teams of similar schools and/or school districts. It has been brought to our attention this is not a permissible practice. Under the guidelines of the Alliance Community Soccer Club a system of rostering players is employed for the purpose of creating a fair or balanced distribution of player talent among all teams participating. You will notice on our registration form, we still ask for School Attends. However the primary criteria the Team Selection reps will be following are Years Playing ACSC (Recreational) and Years Playing Competitive soccer, with the goal of creating a more balanced distribution of player talent being the objective. The ACSC understands there are extenuating circumstances. Please let us know at the time of registration if any such circumstances exist. SPRING SESSION 2014 Our first Spring session was very successful and we appreciate the great turnout from our Soccer Community. Hope to see everyone next spring April thru June visit our website acsc1.com for Spring registration dates!!! 5
