Complete a total of 50 catches. Throw grounders to each other. both have taken 7 steps back. Run the perimeter of the area as though you were running bases. Underhand Pitch to each other. Complete a total of 30 catches as quickly as possible from 10 paces apart. PAGE 1

3 SPARK SOFTBALL The object is to score a SPARK (5 squares in a row horizontally, vertically, or diagonally). To do that, find others who can answer the questions or will do the activity with you. Have them sign your SPARK card on the appropriate square. You may use each person no more than 2 times. If you finish before the signal, your Closing Challenge is to help others get a SPARK. Good luck and have fun! S P A R K Jump rope for 100 jumps. Walk the perimeter 1X. Do 10 Push-ups. (your best form) Play catch for a total of 50 catches. Do 20 Curl-ups. Complete 20 Underhand Pitches. Try to beat your partner back. Walk the perimeter and do a Leg Stretch on 2 corners of the Link together and give 10 people a highfive. (5 each) Jog the perimeter 2X. 4 CREATE A GAME The American Softball League keeps hearing about the wonders of soccer. Soccer is fast. Soccer is fun. Soccer is cool. They are downright sick of hearing it all! They want more kids to play softball instead. Because they sell softball equipment, softball summer camps, softball coaching aids and everything softball, it is very important for them to win over today s youth. They want you to create a new type of softball game that is more fun and active than traditional softball. If your game meets or beats the following criteria you will win a lifetime pass to Disneyland.* It is fun for kids of all ability levels. It uses at least 3 skills you ve learned in softball: Throwing Catching Underhand pitching Baserunning Batting Fielding ground and fly balls It has a way-cool name. It is active for all involved. (At least half of the players are moving at all times, and/or all of the players are moving at least half of the time.) It involves teamwork and cooperation.
