Friends of the Earth s Big Ask Cinema Advert outreach: Current listing of cinemas in England Wales and Northern Ireland showing our 60sec advert NB: The advertising package with Pearl and Dean has now ended. It ran from 24 th June 28 th July reaching approximately 300,000 admissions. Some local groups visited those screens showing the ad during the campaign to talk to cinema goers about the campaign and distribute action postcards. But our outreach campaign does not end here. We are managing to persuade a number of independent cinemas to show our advert at no cost. These are listed below. HELP US GET WIDER OUTREACH FOR THE CINEMA ADVERT We are also exploring additional screening opportunities to show the cinema ad (which is going to be a live campaign tool for next 2 years or more) eg: o Events with screening opportunities eg. Film Festivals, Music Festivals o Venues with screening opportunities eg. Eden Project, Art Centres and Exhibitions, education centres, community centres etc. o Film clubs and societies o Any remaining local independent cinemas who are not under contract with Carlton Screen Advertising or Pearl and Dean (those who have agreed are listed in the table below) o Student unions showing films etc Please contact Dave Powell - 020 7566 4093 email davep@foe.co.uk who is coordinating the cinema advert outreach and would love to hear and support your ideas for new screening opportunities. You have the expertise and knowledge locally and can help ensure this ad is seen by many over the life of our climate change campaign! The advert is available in a various formats including: 35mm film, DVD and various web versions eg. Mpeg1, 2, flash, quicktime etc. All local groups will be receiving a DVD in October 2005 with the cinema advert (including the making off the cinema advert ), message and interviews with from Radiohead s Thom Yorke, media coverage from the launch, and a few other short pieces of film. These can be used for example at public meetings and events groups organise, and will be offered to schools taking part in Shoutabout.
