1 Freshwater Forensics Saturday 29 June 2013 at Epping Forest Field Centre Saturday 13 July 2013 at Roding Valley Meadows Thank you for your interest in our Family Activity at Epping Forest Field Centre and Roding Valley Meadows. There are two sessions available on each day: or The sessions will be led by experienced and trained staff from Epping Forest Field Centre and Epping Forest Countrycare and provide fun and inspiring activities for families. Pond dip in one of the Centre ponds and kick sample in the River Roding, discover life under the water line, observe amazing creature features, get close up to some rare amphibians and meet the alien invaders. Fun and Fresh Air Discovery Safe Supervision This course is aimed at families ie. adults and children together, children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. For safety and practical reasons we ask for a ratio of one adult to two children under 5 and one adult to a maximum of four children for other ages. Each family or group will be given guidance on how to pond dip safely and successfully, then allowed to dip at their leisure. There will also be the opportunity to participate in other activities and games to find out more about the animals which live in our ponds. Please bring appropriate clothing and suitable footwear in case the ground is muddy, and plenty of enthusiasm. Places are limited and must be booked in advance in order for us to ensure the safety of visitors during the day. 3 Directions to Epping Forest Field Centre for 29 June 2013 (Day 1) Directions to Roding Valley Meadows for 13 July 2013 (Day 2) Meeting point: At the David Lloyd Centre, there is a split in the road. One way is the entrance to the David Lloyd Centre car park the other is a road with a height restriction bar. Go under the height restriction bar and follow the track round. Park in any of the available spaces. We will be meeting at the back of the car park by the footbridge going over the river. Direction: Buckhurst Hill Drive out of Buckhurst Hill down Roding Lane towards Chigwell. Turn left just before crossing M11 bridge sign posted Nature Reserve. Follow road round to David Lloyd Centre. Direction: Chigwell Drive out of Chigwell down Roding Lane towards Buckhurst Hill. Take the first right after crossing the M11 bridge. Follow the road round to the David Lloyd Centre. Direction: Across Roding Valley Nature Reserve Walk towards the fishing lake, we will be using the stretch of river opposite. Follow the river up until you come across the marquee. By public transport The nearest Underground station is Buckhurst Hill. Walk down Roding Lane and follow the instruction above (for Buckhurst Hill).
