Recreation Summer Programs & Events Youths Sports Co-Ed Rookie Baseball Girls and Boys Kinder through 8 th grade Cost: $31.49 per child Day/Time: June 29 - August 22 Practice up to twice a week and clinics or games on weekends; times arranged by coaches Description: Recreation league, teaches fundamentals, teamwork, sportsmanship, physical fitness; utilizes volunteer coaches; registration fee includes t-shirt, hat, and participant trophy. Excursion to Angels Baseball game on 7/24/15.
Summer Day Camp Ages 6-12 Cost: $81.90 week/child & $54.60 per week/2 nd child $16.37 per day/child (Two day minimum) Day/Time/Location: Salgado: June 22-August 21; Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. Logan: June 22-August 21 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Memorial, El Salvador, Jerome: June 29 August 21 Monday Friday 7:30 am to 5:30 pm Santa Anita: 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm Program closed July 3 rd Description: Offered at Jerome, Logan, Memorial, Salgado, Santa Anita, and El Salvador Recreation Centers; Excursions and Special Events, Sports, Organized Games and Fitness Activities, Tennis, Arts and Crafts Activities, Chess, Supervised Play, Table Games and Board Games, Library Visits, End- Of-Summer pool party, Free lunch and snack, end of summer Talent Show on Saturday, August 22 at Salgado Center.
Aquatics Recreation Swim Open to the public Cost: $1.00/child and $2.00/adult Day/Time: Two afternoon sessions offered at Jerome, and Memorial pools and one afternoon session as Santa Anita, El Salvador and Salgado pools Description: Open recreation swim Swimming Lessons Ages 4 yrs. and up Cost: $45.00/person Day/Time: Six two-week sessions offered at Memorial, Jerome, Santa Anita, El Salvador, Salgado pools Tuesday Friday Description: Swim levels 1 through 5, beginner swim team preparation Swim Team Ages 5-17 Cost: 55.00/mo. or $150/Summer (June, July & August) Description: Training in competitive strokes, freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, flip turns, and racing dive entry; includes regional qualifier and championship swim meets; Water Olympics, and end-of-summer awards banquet
Family PRIDE Clubs Open to all Family Members Day/Time: Club meetings on Fridays; activities throughout the summer - Days and times vary. Description: Family picnic and campout at Big Bear; outdoor education activities; weekly meetings to plan activities; volunteer projects. Summer Recreation Class Brochure The Summer Recreation Brochure was published and made available to the public on June 8, 2015. The magazine highlights over 90 classes that includes Tennis, Martial Arts, and Sports, Swimming, Day Camps and Senior Programs.
Citywide Special Events Catalina Campout Ages: 10-14 (Must be Santa Ana Residents) Cost: $120 with scholarships available on a sliding scale Dates: August 10-14 4 th of July Celebration Saturday, July 4 @ Centennial Park 4:00pm 9:30pm Description: Activities including a History Walk, Sports Zone, Kids Zone, Live Entertainment, Food, Canon Exhibition, Recognition of Military and Armed Forces, culminating with a spectacular Fireworks Show. Plaza Wellness Saturday, August 29, 2015 from 8:00am to 12:00pm Plaza Santa Ana Corner of 4 th and French St. Description: Event promoting health and fitness, including a 5K Race, Health Fair and VIP Basketball Game.
