The awards started back in 2003 and have grown each year in those that we recognise and in the standard of entrants. We are continuing the emphasis that the awards are to recognise that true optimisation not only lies at an individual or team level but across the entire organisation and is only achieved through a combination of strategic forecasting & planning, real-time work management and operational intelligence. The eg operational excellence awards are designed to recognise outstanding contributions by individuals, teams and companies across our client base through the use of the eg principles of operational management and the eg operational intelligence software suite. Many people have been recognised since the awards began and we will continue to celebrate success for many more years to come. We have some longstanding clients who continue to support the awards and celebrate the benefits and recognition it brings. Plus, each year, we have new clients who want to optimise their back office operations and are at the beginning of their journey of operational excellence. Achievements in pursuit of World Class Operations Management Standards. The awards seek to recognise and celebrate team commitment and reward the hard work and success of Team Leaders, Managers and their teams. Entry Criteria: A maximum of 5 nominations per client per Team Manager Category. A maximum of 3 nominations per client per Manager Category. A maximum of 3 nominations per client per Business Support Category. A maximum of 3 nominations per client per Company & Team Categories. 1 application form to be completed per nomination. All entries will be acknowledged on receipt. Nominations must be supported and signed by the individual s line manager/sponsor and appropriate documentary evidence can be submitted as part of the assessment process e.g. performance reports. Assessment Process All entry forms will be reviewed and each nominee/team will need to be available in the months or July or August to attend an assessment with an eg representatives. They will be in the form of a structured interview and/ or an assessment which is reviewed against eg s best practice criteria. Finalists for the eg operational excellence awards dinner will be notified in September. Please note that only leaders in their categories will be recognised as finalists to ensure the continued high standards. Company Award Best Practice Operational Excellence Operational Excellence is only achieved through a combination of Operational Intelligence (having the right information) and Operational Leadership (using the information in the right way to get the right results). This award recognises companies/teams that demonstrate maturity in their application of both the eg operational intelligence software suite and eg principles of operational management to optimise and sustain performance in all key result areas whilst promoting the right behaviours. Team Awards Best Practice Operational Team of the Year This award recognises the value of an individual team who have demonstrated significant improvements that have given a positive impact on the overall Customer experience. Being recognised as the Best Practice Operational Team of the Year celebrates a team s achievement in driving key performance metrics through devoted use of the eg operational intelligence software suite. Best Practice Operational Forecasting & Planning With an ever increasing demand on strategic forecasting and planning functions to provide timely, consistent and accurate forecasting, this award acknowledges the expertise of dedicated Operational Forecasting & Planning teams in analysing performance across processes, functions and teams enabling them to deliver accurate capacity plans and forecasts for effectively managing back office performance through the eg operational intelligence software suite. Best Practice Operational Intelligence & Analytics Company and Team awards: Top tips to get noticed: Development of operational intelligence Effective use of forecasting and planning tool Include key facts or figures Supporting reports Description of operational models Understanding all key aspects of operational performance is vital for any organisation. This award recognises the significant contribution that the Reporting community gives in analysing and producing timely operational intelligence to the business to enable operations to identify areas of improvement. This award will be given to a team who provides exceptional support, recommendations and intelligence through analysis and reporting using the eg operational intelligence software suite. eg Intelligent Operations Management Technical Award This award will recognise the value achieved by client IT and Business partnerships, where the eg software has been combined with other applications to achieve a seamless integrated solution. The award will be based on the extent of the integration (the number and/or scope of the solutions integrated) and the extent to which these have enhanced operational management within the business and subsequently improved service delivery to the Client s customer base. 4
Individual Awards Best Practice Manager The Best Practice Manager award will be given to a Manager who challenges, cheerleads and proactively supports their team of teams to consistently meet or exceed agreed KPIs, whilst ensuring to deliver exceptional Customer Service. This award specifically recognises Managers who have responsibility for a department or business unit containing more than 4 teams. Best Practice Team Manager The Best Practice Team Manager award recognises an individual who displays effective leadership skills and positive attitude to effectively plan and communicate targets, allocate to achieve optimal performance, monitor and analyse their routines and processes to improve the overall customer experience. Most Improved Team Manager The Most Improved Team Manager award is given in recognition of a Team Manager who has evidenced significant progress in embedding the eg principles of operational management to effectively measure, manage, analyse and improve key operational performance metrics over a measureable 12 month period to entry close. Best Newcomer Team Manager The Best Newcomer award will be given for best achievement by a Team Manager who has been appointed to the role or introduced to the eg principles of operational management no more than 12 months prior to the entry closing date. This award celebrates the commitment and advocacy of proactive performance management through their new found knowledge of the eg operational intelligence software suite. Nominees must be able to demonstrate the impact and improvements they have personally contributed to since taking on the role. Awards Dinner The number of places allocated for the awards dinner is dependent on how many successful nominees make the shortlist from each company. Subject to availability additional places may be available to purchase in advance of the awards evening. Best Business Support The Best Business Support award will be given to an individual who provides first class support in either the introduction or ongoing maintenance of the eg operational intelligence software suite. Nominees must be able to demonstrate understanding of the eg principles of operational management and evidence how the set-up of the eg operational intelligence software suite supports this. This year s assessment process will look at the effectiveness of protocols and standards, change control procedures, system housekeeping and forums to drive best practice. The eg operational excellence conference Event Details Date & Time 18 November 2016 10.00am to 4.00pm In conjunction with the 2016 eg operational excellence awards, we will again be holding the eg operational excellence day conference that will bring together eg s customer base to share learning of how to continue to develop high performing teams and leaders. The day will involve customer presentations with peer voting for the People s Choice award for the Company that delegates consider to be Best in Class and a guest speaker, bringing the parallels of sport and teamwork.
