The organization team, club presidents and all the volunteers are very pleased and excited to be working on such a prestigious event as the ITF Seniors World Team & Individual Championships. We warmly welcome you to Finland and Tali Tennis Center (main venue), the biggest indoor center in Europe. Also we all hope you experience the white nights in Finland. ENTRY DEADLINE: Wednesday 25 May 2016 at 14:00 GMT WITHDRAWAL DEADLINE: Friday 17 June at 14:00 GMT FREEZE & DOUBLES MATCHING DEADLINE: Tuesday 21 June at 11:00 GMT For all enquiries please telephone, fax or email the ITF Seniors department, contact details as below: Tel: 44 (0)20 8392 4699; Fax: 44 (0)20 8392 4737 or 4735 Email: seniors@itftennis.com SINGLES ENTRIES Online entry will be available from 14 March, 15 weeks ahead of the event, through the IPIN account of each player. All players are required to enter by the due deadline (25 May). THERE WILL BE NO SIGN-IN ON-SITE. No player, including team players, may arrive on site and expect to compete without having entered by the due deadline and having paid their entry fee in advance. Please note that players must have a valid Seniors IPIN membership in order to enter and compete. It is the responsibility of the player to ensure that the online entry procedure has been successful. MAIN DRAW SINGLES EVENT The Main Draw is scheduled to commence on Saturday 25 June. All players must be available to play on this date if required. Players must note that if they receive a bye in the first round they may not be required on the first scheduled day. Shortly after the entry deadline of Wednesday 25 May, the provisional start day for each singles event will be announced on the ITF Seniors website. Please note that if more than 128 entries are received in any event, a qualifying event will be held immediately prior to the Main Draw. Qualifying will be held over a maximum of 2 days. In this case, players on the qualifying acceptance list will be contacted directly with more information. DOUBLES/MIXED DOUBLES ENTRIES Doubles and mixed doubles events will be held in all age categories, using the format two tie-break sets and a match tie-break in place of a third set. All references to doubles below also include mixed doubles. DOUBLES ENTRIES WILL CLOSE ON WEDNESDAY 25 MAY. PLAYERS MAY ENTER WITHOUT A PARTNER UNTIL THE ENTRY DEADLINE. THEY THEN HAVE UNTIL 21 JUNE (11:00AM GMT) TO MATCH UP ONLINE AS DOUBLES PAIRS WITH OTHER ENTERED PLAYERS. FOR PLAYERS WHO DID NOT MANAGE TO FIND A PARTNER BY 21 JUNE, THERE WILL ALSO BE DOUBLES SIGN- IN ON SITE UP UNTIL 18:00 LOCAL TIME ON THURSDAY 23 JUNE.

It is the player s responsibility to find a doubles partner. The ITF will not match any players to form a doubles pair. It is the players responsibility to ensure that both doubles partners are entered and that they are confirmed as a doubles team in the Championships, and that neither player is erroneously included in any other doubles team. It will not be possible to replace an injured partner after the draw has been done. Players will be able to see who has entered the tournament via their IPIN account. Players may enter up to three events (no more than one each of singles, doubles and mixed). Please note that any player entering three events must be prepared to play three matches in a day. ENTRY FEE PAYMENT According to Section I, rule 55 of the ITF Seniors Regulations, entries will NOT be accepted without the entry fee of US$125 (approx. 113/ 88) which is payable by the entry deadline per person whether for entry into singles AND doubles or singles OR doubles ONLY. RULES & CONDITIONS REFEREE: Norbert Peick ENTRY DEADLINE: Wednesday 25 May 2016 at 14:00 GMT 1. EVENTS AND ENTRIES a. Championship Events: MEN: 50, 55, 60 (singles, doubles and mixed doubles) WOMEN: 50, 55, 60 (singles, doubles and mixed doubles) All age categories will be played on hard courts. b. Entry Deadline: The above entry deadline will be strictly applied to all competitors without exception. c. Eligibility: Only those players who are under the jurisdiction of a national tennis association affiliated to the ITF and who have reached, or will have reached, the minimum age limit of the category entered on or before 31 December 2016, shall be eligible to compete. They must be in good standing with their National Association as defined in Appendix V of the ITF Seniors Regulations. All players must have a valid Seniors IPIN in order to compete. Passports showing name, nationality and date of birth will be requested on site by the ITF, for the purposes of monitoring eligibility. d. Maximum Draw Size: There will be a maximum draw size of 128 in the singles events and 64 in the doubles/mixed doubles events. e. Qualifying: If the number of entries exceeds the draw size of 128 in any draw, a qualifying event will be held immediately prior to the Main Draw. Qualifying will be held over a maximum of 2 days. Players will be accepted in accordance with the criteria for acceptances in the 2016 ITF Seniors Regulations, as follows: - Following the Entry Deadline, all entered players are listed in ranking order according to the ITF Seniors Singles World Ranking for the applicable age group using the latest ranking list at the time of the Entry Deadline, i.e. the ranking of 23 May 2016. Tied players will be randomised by the entry system. Players without an ITF Seniors Singles World Ranking will be positioned according to the following criteria: - Firstly, unranked players from outside the tournament zone will be drawn at random into positions. Secondly, unranked players from outside the tournament region will be drawn at random into positions. - Thirdly, unranked players from the tournament region including the unranked players from the host country will be drawn at random into positions. Zones and Regions are defined as follows: Regions: (Asia) (Oceania) (Europe) (Africa) (South America) (Central America) (North America) Zones: (Asia/Oceania) (Euro/Africa) (The Americas) f. Accreditation: The accreditation desk at Hotel Presidentti will be open on Thursday 23 and Friday 24 June from 9.30 am till 7.00 pm. All players are required to register and provide their contact details during the event.

g. Consolation Event: Consolation events shall be held for players that lose their first match in singles Main Draw. ITF Seniors World Ranking points will be awarded in the Consolation event. New tennis balls will be used. Players that receive a Walkover in their first match and lose their second may choose whether to receive the ranking points won from this Walkover or to play the Consolation event. The Consolation format of play will be best of two tie-break sets with a 10 point match tiebreak instead of a third set. 2. ENTRY FEE a. According to Section I, rule 55 of the ITF Seniors Regulations, entries will NOT be accepted without the entry fee of US$125 (approx. 113/ 88) which is payable by the entry deadline per person whether for entry into singles AND doubles or singles OR doubles ONLY. Refunds: Refunds in full will be made if withdrawal is notified before the Withdrawal Deadline of 17 June 2016 at 14:00 GMT. If withdrawal is notified after the Withdrawal Deadline, refunds will only be made for reasons of health, injury or bereavement. Withdrawals after the draw has been made will not be refunded. 3. COURTS AND MATCHPLAY a) Match Courts: 42 at 3 venues Tali Tennis Center: 22 hard courts Esport Center: 12 hard courts Tapiola Tennispuisto: 8 hard courts Further information on which age categories will play at each club will be given after the entry deadline. Practice Courts: Limited practice courts will be available for three days prior to the event and can be booked on-site. Competitors are reminded that the Seniors World Team Championships will be going on immediately prior to the Individual Championships, so courts will be very limited before late afternoon. Information on additional practice court venues will be provided later. b) Balls: Wilson US Open. Extra duty. A minimum of four new balls will be provided for the first two sets. New balls will be provided for any third set. Practice balls will also be provided in accordance with the Regulations. c) Code of Conduct: The ITF Seniors Code of Conduct as stated in the ITF Seniors Regulations will be enforced during the event. d) Obligations: According to the ITF Seniors Regulations, unless otherwise advised, each player competing in the Competition undertakes to remain ready to play matches from the start of the Competition in which he/she is entered and thereafter until the scheduled date for completion of such competition or until he/she is eliminated there from. Should a player leave the site without completing his/her matches before his/her elimination from the event without a reason of health, injury or bereavement or retire from the tournament without a valid medical certificate, he/she shall not receive any player hospitality money, shall forfeit all world ranking points won at all events at the

tournament and shall be subject to the penalties set forth in Y. Suspension points. For the purpose of leaving the tournament site for a reason of injury, the tournament doctor or the Sports Medicine Trainer must issue a medical certificate. e) Players: All players are required to report to the Match Control Centre desk 15 minutes before the scheduled time of their match. A player who is not ready to play 15 minutes after being called may be defaulted. f) Dress on Court: During a match, players must be dressed in acceptable tennis attire in accordance with the ITF Seniors Code of Conduct on Clothing. Doubles Team Identification: Ideally members of a doubles team will be dressed in substantially the same colours. g) The Draw: The singles and doubles draws will be made by the ITF and published on Friday 24 June. h) Seeding: Seeding will be determined by the ITF and based on the ITF Seniors Ranking as of 20 June. i) Times of Play: All players MUST be available for play from Saturday 25 until Saturday 02 July. The times of play will be published online the evening before. j) Daily Order of Play: The official Order of Play will be published every evening by 22:00 on the ITF Seniors website, and will also be published on-site in accordance with Section I, rule 48 of the ITF Seniors Regulations. It is a player s responsibility to check the time of his/her match and be ready to play accordingly. k) Format of Play: All Main Draw singles matches will be the best of three tiebreak sets. All doubles and mixed doubles matches will be two tie-break sets and a 10 point match tie-break in place of a third set. The format of play for the Consolation event will also be two tiebreak sets and a match tiebreak in place of a third set. l) Change of Ends tie-break: The Change of Ends tie-break will be used during the 2016 Seniors World Individual Championships for every tie-break. As per Appendix IV of the Rules of Tennis, Change of Ends (Rule 10) : During a tie-break game, players shall change ends after the first point and thereafter after every four points. m) Rest: A 10-minute rest may be taken after the 2 nd set in all events, according to Section I, rule 50 of the ITF Seniors Regulations. n) Officiating: Chair Umpires will be provided for all Main Draw finals matches singles and doubles. o) Stringing: Stringing will be available at all sites for a charge of 15 (labour only). 4. SUNDRY MATTERS a) Accommodation: Competitors and accompanying persons are advised to book at one of the official accommodation providers. Full instructions and details are on pages 9-10. b) Opening ceremony: All players are invited to attend the Opening Ceremony on Saturday 25 June at 5pm at Tali Tennis Center. Players are requested to wear national tracksuit or uniform, if available. c) Functions: Welcome Cocktail - Saturday 25 June at Tali Tennis Center from 5.30pm, immediately after the Opening Ceremony. Free of charge for all players and accompanying persons.

Official Dinner - Tuesday 26 June from 8.00pm at Hotel Presidentti. Free of charge for all players, 40 for accompanying persons ( 20 for children under the age of 12). Dress code: smart casual. The official dinner will consist of a welcome cocktail followed by a traditional Finnish dinner with wine. There will also be a dancefloor available in the night club for players to dance after dinner. Players and accompanying persons must register no later than 26 May. Accompanying persons, please pay the 40 fee prior to 01 June, via bank transfer to the following account: Bank: Nordea IBAN: FI45 1470 3000 0540 42 Account name: HVS-Tennis Following the registration/payment deadline, should an accompanying person decide to not attend the official dinner, the 40 fee will not be refunded. Train: The main train station is situated in downtown Helsinki about 300 meters from the official hotel. There are also very good and cheap public transportation systems from the airport to close to Hotel Presidentti. Train and bus cost approximately 5 /person. All players and accompanying people will be met at Helsinki Vantaa Airport and taken to the official hotel only from Wednesday 22, Thursday 23 and Friday 24 June, free of charge, provided that advance notification of arrival times is supplied as indicated below. This service from the airport will operate several times a day, the schedule will be confirmed when arrival details have been received. Please complete and return the attached arrival form to HVS-Tennis (details on form) by 26 May. If required, players will be returned free of charge to Helsinki Vantaa Airport on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 July. Players must sign up for this service at least 24 hours in advance at the welcome desk of each site. Car hire: There is a Hertz car rentals station at Hotel Presidentti. e) Medical and Travel Insurance Recommendations: According to Section I, rule 16 of the ITF Seniors Regulations, players are responsible for checking with their local health authority regarding medical recommendations for travel to the country hosting the ITF Seniors World Individual Championships. Each player is responsible for ensuring that he/she (as well as any accompanying person) is fully and adequately covered by insurance for the purposes of attending and participating in the ITF Seniors World Individual Championships. The ITF Ltd, the host association and the host sites cannot accept any liability for any participant or visitor in this respect. f) Visa Recommendation: Please contact the Finnish embassy in your country to find out about visa requirements for entry into Finland. Should you require an invitation letter to apply for visas, the

Finnish National Association, Suomen Tennisliitto, will forward you an appropriate letter. To start the process, please forward your request for an invitation letter to the Suomen Tennisliitto (veera.nurmi@tennis.fi) as early as possible to avoid problems obtaining visas. The ITF and the Suomen Tennisliitto cannot guarantee that a visa will be issued by the Finnish government. Neither the ITF nor the Suomen Tennisliitto can take any responsibility for the failure of any player to obtain a visa. g) Health and Safety: Please contact the ITF office in London for any matter related to health and safety. h) Hospitality: All Main Draw Championships singles, doubles and mixed doubles players reaching the final and semi-final of their respective event will receive hospitality payments as follows: Singles winners: Singles runners-up: Singles semifinalists: Doubles/mixed doubles winners: Doubles/mixed doubles runners-up: Doubles/mixed doubles semifinalists: US$800 US$600 US$400 US$600 per team US$400 per team US$200 per team Hospitality money will be paid by cheque (GBP or USD) or bank transfer after the event. i) Medals: Medals will be presented to the players as follows: Winners of singles and doubles events Gold; Finalists in singles and doubles events Silver; Semifinalists in singles and doubles events Bronze. 3 rd / 4 th place play off matches will not be played in either singles or doubles. ACCOMMODATION Helsinki is a popular tourist destination. Therefore we strongly recommend that players book their accommodation as soon as possible (even before given deadline).
