The Safety and Security team is responsible for the strategic planning and effective operational management with a purpose of mitigating risks, providing advice to our stakeholders and implementing proactive measures to contribute to a safe and secure environment for our staff, contractors, hirers and visitors. Key Criteria Key Relationships Internal Coordinate, Health and Safety, Trustees, Executive, Leadership team and staff at all levels External Presenters, contractors, tenants, visitors, and relevant external regulatory bodies Qualifications Tertiary qualifications in relevant field and professional OH&S qualification Extensive experience (5 years+) & successful track record in OHS, worker s compensation, return to work coordination & risk management at a strategic & operational level Strong experience & a proven record in providing operational & strategic advice; & delivering health, safety and/or environmental services within a similar sized organization Experience Essential Understanding of contemporary and emerging OHS, risk management & environmental management issues. Well-developed analytical skills and ability to develop practical solutions Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Previous experience managing a small team (1-2 people) Ability to develop and deliver training Desirable Return to Work Coordinator Certification Other (ie legal or physical) General office work with a strong emphasis on computer usage and site work including outdoor locations May be required to walk distances of up to 2-3 km s and carry light equipment from time to time The following does not describe all the detailed activities for the role. Conduct OHS&E incident investigations Incident investigations identifies the contributing factors of incidents and lead to corrective actions & effective action strategies to minimise workplace loss Conduct OHS&E and environmental incident investigations Identify root causes of incidents and implement corrective actions Review corrective actions and controls to ensure they are appropriate and operating Identify trends and implement effective mitigation strategies Develop, manage and improve Emergency Management Plans Emergency Management Plan is appropriate for the organisations risk and complies with all relevant legislation and Australian Standards. Emergency Control Organisation training planned, coordinated and delivered to legislative requirements Develop and maintain Arts Centre Melbourne s Emergency Management Plan Coordinate Emergency Planning Committee functions Coordinate and facilitate Emergency Control Organisation training and exercises Emergency Control Organisation incorporates learning in a continuous improvement culture Facilitate post incident reviews as appropriate Identify any system improvements Develop, implement and manage the auditing of dangerous goods & hazardous chemicals systems Increase awareness internally and reduce risk profile with regards to dangerous goods & hazardous chemicals Administration, management and audit of systems and practices Coordinate and facilitate stakeholder training Coordinate expert external audits Monitor remedial action arising Develop, implement and manage WorkCover and Return to Work processes Act as the designated Return to Work Officer Business unit managers are supported and risk to the organisation is minimised Administer workers compensation claims Develop return to work strategies Provide advice to internal stakeholders on claims management Next Review: insert date Page 4 of 5
