A First in USA Coach Education For the first time in the United States, an extensive education program has been developed for tennis teachers and coaches to be qualified to a high level of knowledge and skill in order to work with juniors ages 4-17. The Master of Tennis - program content is designed to help coaches gain the behaviors, knowledge and skills needed to design and develop high quality programs that encourage and enable young players to participate in tennis. The high standards of the program will be mirrored in the high standards of the participants. There are specific requirements to apply and be accepted for this qualification, which is accredited externally to Level 5 of the National Standards for Sports Coaches (NSSC). To qualify, candidates must hold a Level 1 Professional rating in PTR 10 & Under or 11 to 17 and/or Level 3. With this format, participants will benefit from studying at their own pace, and have the opportunity to interact with their peers on court. The program must be completed within two years of acceptance. A maximum of 16 PTR Professionals will be accepted into the program. The program concentrates on the factors that constitute high quality programming for juniors. It complements and extends both the USTA Coach Youth Tennis and the ITF Tennis 10s initiatives. Each coach will be assigned a personal access code, so work can be completed and stored for easy reference at any time.
