Using iclicker Integrate for the first time! Due to increased security within Blackboard there is a change in the process for Synchronizing your roster with iclicker integrate. This document will explain the steps you must follow when you synchronize your roster the first time with integrate. iclicker has added a new version (iclicker 7). This document contains some basic information but there is a separate document that deals specifically with version 7 also located the website. If you are using version 7 of the iclicker software once you have gotten the files listed in step 2 of this document please move to that helpsheet. Step 1: In your Blackboard Course go to Control Panel > Customization > Tool Availability and click the checkbox next to i>clicker Remote Registration to make the tool available in your course for students to use. It will be listed in the Tools Area in the Student Navigation. Step 2: Download and un-package the integrate files for iclicker Win or iclicker Mac or iclicker 7 from the http://louisville.edu/it/departments/classroom-support/iclicker/integrating-iclicker-with-blackboard website listed as iclicker Integrate Wizard. For Instructors Using i>clicker Windows For Instructors Using i>clicker Macintosh Iclicker version 7 6.42 Version 6.4.2 Version 6.4.2 For windows, mac CMS Integrate Wizard.exe CMS_Wizard.xml Config.xml CMS Integrate Wizard Libs (folder) CMS Integrate Wizard.app CMS_Wizard.xml Config.xml or LMS_Wizard.xml linux MOVE the files listed above FROM integrate Wizard Win v3.3.0, integrate Wizard Mac v3.3.0 or LMS_Wizard.zip (for all versions of iclicker 7 only) folder TO Resources in your version of the iclicker software. NOTE: If you are using iclicker version 7 see the document Using Integrate for the first time with iclicker 7 located on the website. Step 3: Set up your classes in the iclicker application. From this point you can run clicker sessions in class as normal. Step 4: Once you have run a class session, you can now synchronize to download the roster from the course in Blackboard. a. Go to your iclicker Win or iclicker Mac folder and open the igrader application.

b. Choose the class you want to download the roster from Blackboard for to prepare for synchronizing. c. You will then see the following message to download the roster for this class from Blackboard. Click Yes.

You will then be asked to run the integrate software. (This is the reason for the files that placed in your iclicker Win or iclicker Mac folder). Click Run.

d. You will be presented with the following screen. In this box: the CMS Description should say Blackboard. Type in your blackboard login id in the CMS Username field. The CMS Password should say No Password, Single Sign On Enabled. The security Key is new. This you must retrieve from Blackboard. Step 5: Login to Blackboard and go to the class you want the roster for in igrader.

Once inside your course go to Course Tools in the control panel of your course and click on iclicker Instructor Tools. Step 6: Click on SSO Security key.

Step 7: Copy the security key on this page. Now you can minimize Blackboard and paste the key into the Security Screen for integrate. Step 8: Paste the key from your blackboard course into the box for integrate and click Save my login credentials. Then press Log In. Step 9: Now you will see a screen that will allow you to select the course to import the roster into the igrader.

Now, select your course from the dropdown menu and click Import Roster.

When your Roster is imported to igrader you will see the following screen. You can now click Restart igrader to see the list of names from the roster of your blackboard course.

Now that the roster is in igrader you can click the Sync button to synchronize the registrations from the Register your iclicker tool inside your course. You will see this screen after your roster has been successfully loaded and you press Sync. Just click the Yes button on this screen to run the synchronization. Remember, you must have at least one session in the igrader before you sync. You will not need the security key after you run the integrate software the first time because it will be saved for you. Once you have this set up the students can use the Register your iclicker tool inside your course under Tools on the Navigation Menu to input their iclicker id.
