U N I V E R S I T Y O F C O P E N H A G E N Login for the online application portal Instructions for login to the online application portal for Master s degrees Logon to the digital application system is done through WAYF (Where Are You From), which is a national logon service used by Danish universities and NemID among others. There are three different ways to log on to the application system through WAYF. 1. If you have a valid logon for a Danish university system, you can use this logon for WAYF there are, however, a few universities where this does not yet work. 2. If you have a Danish NemID, you can use this to log on through WAYF. 3. If you have neither of the above options, you can open a user account in the application system instead and use this logon for WAYF. When you are logged on in one of the three ways described above, you will be presented with a WAYF declaration of agreement. Check this WAYF information to see which email address is transferred to the application system in order to make sure that mail notifications about new messages for you in the system are sent to the correct email address. When you accept the declaration of agreement, you will be taken to the application system. Login Instructions When you click on a link for the application system, you will arrive at the system welcome page. Press F11 for full screen. Click on the small arrow to the right for online help. Change language if you prefer a different communication language for your application. In the following pages, each of the three different logon options will be explained in detail. Page 1 of 6
1) University login Choose your home university Please click on the login button at the welcome page. This brings up the list of WAYF institutions. From this list, please choose your home university. For example, please choose "University of Copenhagen" if you are or were a student of the University of Copenhagen. This will redirect you to the login page of your home university. For Copenhagen University students Please enter your KU-username and password. If you log in at a computer that is also used by others it is VERY IMPORTANT that you tick the box This is a public or shared computer. If you choose option "This is a private computer", your browser will remember your login details even after you shut down the browser window. This means that other users of the same computer will have access to all the WAYF services in your name without having to log in again. Page 2 of 6
2) Login with NemID First make sure your NemID transfers the correct email address Please note that your NemID has to transfer both your email address and your CPR number to the application system. This is not always the case so you may have to first set up your NemID at www.nemid.nu. Logon When you are ready for logon through NemID. click the login button at the welcome page of the application system: This brings up the WAYF list of institutions please choose NemLog-in : Page 3 of 6
3) Logon with a personal user account Set up a user account To set up your user account, please click the button Set me up as a user at the welcome page. You will then be asked to provide any relevant information about yourself, which includes the following: Name, Nationality (i.e. legal citizenship), Email address, Documentation for identity (i.e. passport scan), and whether you have a Danish CPR number. If you do not have a Danish CPR, you must provide basic information about your Date of Birth, Gender, and Address details. National ID means any ID number that your country has issued you - if you do not have one then write your passport number or N/A. Your postcode and city should be entered in the fields in the right column, not the left. Page 4 of 6
3) Logon with a personal user account (cont.) Activate your user account Important! The most important thing about setting up a user account is choosing the right email address. The email address you register is the email address that will be permanently used to identify you in the system, and to which all notifications from the system will be sent. The email address you choose cannot be changed. Therefore, please choose an email address that you will have permanent access to for the foreseeable future. Once you have entered all your personal details and click Create, an email will be sent to your submitted email address with a link that you can use to activate the new account. It is possible that this email will be identified as unwanted mail by your email service, so make sure to check your folder for unwanted mail if the email does not seem to arrive, and/or register the sending email address no-reply@umit.dk as a trusted sender. Note that this link can only be used when activating the account, it cannot be used to log in to the portal at a later date. Once you click the link, you will be asked to create a new password. 3) Logon with a personal user account (cont.) Login with your user account After you have selected your new password, you will be taken to the WAYF login screen with the green background. Here, you have to select the institution name Application Portal as your institution, as this is the system within which your login information has been stored. Find the link using the search box and click on the link indicated above. You will then be asked to enter your email address and the password you created earlier. Once you click Login, you will be asked to give permission for WAYF to transfer the information registered about you into the application portal. When you have approved this, you will be taken into your personalised start page in the online application portal. Page 6 of 6
