1 Microsoft Office 365 Portal Once you logon, you are placed in the Admin page if you are an adminstrator. Here you will manage permissions for SharePoint, install Office Professional for Windows users, manage Exchange (or your mail server), and modify your subscription. To log onto the portal, point your browser to: Point your browser to: login.microsoftonline.com Your user name is your full address Your password has been provided you under separate document and/or during your training session. 2 You will see four options at the top: Home Outlook Team Site Admin Home: a quick launching place. You get quick access to Outlook, installation for Lync, view video tutorials for Office365, link to Team Site (SharePoint) Outlook: Link to access Outlook Web Access (once on this page, I would add it to your favorites. 4 Office 365: General Information Creating a Forms Library You can create a Forms Library just as easy as creating any other library in SharePoint. The following screen capture shows the Forms Library template: Although it is easy to create a Forms Library using the Library template, if you are planning on designing forms with InfoPath Designer, it is usually simpler to create a library as part of the publishing process. One advantage of using the publishing process to create the library is you can choose which fields you want to create library columns for and which fields you only want stored in the XML body of the document item. In a later walk-through and in the lab exercises, you will see how to publish a form template and create a library at the same time. Library Tab Library tab in a document library as seen by a user with contribute permissions. SharePoint 2010 has a replacement for the Windows Explorer View, and the old Upload Multiple (sort of see Mileage may vary below) is also gone. But drag and drop is not gone. Both options have both been replaced with a new Upload Multiple option that supports drag and drop from Windows Explorer into the browser. Page 4
5 The Explorer View is here to view and work with your files in the manner you are familiar with, but you many not want to use it after you have seen the new multiple upload. The Open with Explorer and the new Upload Multiple seems to depend on Office 2010 being installed. (For example, if you have Office 64 bit or Internet Explorer 64 bit, a number of Office integration options will not currently work.) The Upload Multiple Documents From a document library click the Documents tab, click the dropdown arrow next to Upload Document then click Upload Multiple Documents. (or click Upload Document, then click Upload Multiple) Page 5
6 A dialog box will open with a drag area. Note: Prior to dragging files, the Cancel button cancels the dialog box. After you drop a file, the cancel button is grayed out. Going forward it is used to only cancel an upload in progress. To close the dialog box you will need to click the X. After displaying the above screen you can open a Windows Explorer and then drag files and folders to the browser. What s interesting is that does not start the upload. It only displays a list of files and lets you remove any you don t want to upload. Page 6
