Day 1 Arrive Helsinki, FINLAND Welcome to Scandinavia and Finland! You are met on arrival in Helsinki, and taken to your hotel. Enjoy an afternoon and evening at leisure to relax or explore the city. Meals: None included today Hotel: Hotel Lilla Roberts, Helsinki (Luxury Room) Day 2 Helsinki Sightseeing This morning you will depart on a 3-hour walking tour with your private guide who will share fascinating stories about the city. See the historical quarters around the Senate Square and feel the sea breeze while walking along the colorful Market Square. Pass by the Esplanade Park, visit the Rock Church and learn about Finnish architecture and design. After lunch, you ll visit to the idyllic town of Porvoo with well-preserved wooden houses. The symbols of Porvoo the red warehouses on the riverbanks tell the story of seafaring and trading. Walk through the Old Town and the beautiful medieval cathedral, and visit some of the delightful shops and artisans' workshops. This evening you ll return to the city and embark on a dinner cruise around the beautiful archipelago of Helsinki. (only available May-September) & Dinner Hotel: Hotel Lilla Roberts, Helsinki (Luxury Room) Day 3 Helsinki to Stockholm, SWEDEN In the late morning, you will depart with your guide on a stroll through the most beautiful streets of Helsinki including the Esplanadi and Bulevardi, passing through the Design District Helsinki and idyllic art noveau neighborhood of Punavuori, finishing at the Hietalahti Market Hall. While at Vanha Kauppahalli, you will learn about the local cuisine of cured salmon and smoked reindeer. You ll also experience other classic dishes of "salmiakki and Finnish bread. You will then depart for the airport, stopping at the hotel to pick-up your luggage before flying to Stockholm. Welcome to Sweden! Day 4 Stockholm Sightseeing This morning you will depart on a 30-minute scenic helicopter flight of Stockholm, known as Venice of the North. You ll depart from Old Town, flying low so that you get to see all the important landmarks, such as the Royal Palace and the City Hall. The helicopter will then fly over to the archipelago and around Vaxholm fortress before heading back into town. You ll return to Old Town with some time to dine on your own before meeting your guide for a walking tour of the city. During the next 4 hours you will visit the City Hall of Stockholm, the site of the Nobel Peace Prize banquet. You will then enjoy a panoramic view of Fjellgatan Street. You ll continue with a stroll in Gamla Stan (old Town ) where you see the Royal Palace and Parliament as well as Storkyrkan (church) old markets and narrow streets with picturesque houses and wonderful details in the architecture. You will then visit the Vasa museum, which has the only preserved seventeenth-century ship in the world, and a unique art treasure. More than 95 percent of the ship is original, and it is decorated with hundreds of carved sculptures. The warship Vasa sank on its maiden voyage in the middle of Stockholm in 1628, and was salvaged 333 years later in 1961. For nearly half a century the ship has been slowly, deliberately and painstakingly restored to a state approaching its original glory. After a tour of the museum, you will be taken back to your hotel for an evening to relax. Hotel: Lydmar Hotel, Stockholm (Medium Room) Day 5 Stockholm to Olso, NORWAY In the late morning you will be taken to the dock to depart on a one hour boat trip to see the city by sea. Beginning at Nybroviken/Strandvägen Berth 17 out to the stunning archipelago along Stockholm s coastline. During the journey we will pass incredible sights including the Vaxholm Fortress, Djurgården (The Royal Park), Fjäderholmarna Island and the Prince Eugen Waldemarsudde mansion. After you disembark the boat you will be taken to the airport after stopping by the hotel to pick up your luggage and depart for Olso. Welcome to Norway! Day 6 Oslo Sightseeing Today you will enjoy a full-day tour by a private car where the guide will talk about Oslo s main attractions including the Opera house and the Royal Palace. You will visit the Bygdøy peninsula, which has six museums including the Viking Ship Museum featuring the Oseberg and Gokstad ships from the 9th century. These magnificent longboats and the treasures uncovered are among the most important Viking findings in the world. You will also visit the Fram Museum and the Kon-Tiki Museum. Fram is the polar vessel that has sailed farthest to the North and to the South and the Kon-Tiki Museum houses the original rafts from some of Thor Heyerdahls most famous expeditions. After the museum visits, you will depart for the Holmenkollen area. You will have time for a late lunch before visiting the Holmenkollen Ski Jump where you can visit the Ski Museum and the jump tower. Here you will enjoy a panorama view of Oslo before continuing with a walk through the Vigelands Park, with more than 200 sculptures. In the evening you will be taken to Ekebergrestauranten, a renovated tobacco factory turned restaurant and located in a beautiful setting above the city with panoramic views across the Oslo fjord. Here, you will enjoy a 6-course Chef s dinner of eclectic European cuisine based on seasonal ingredients in a chic dining room and terraces in a modernist, 1920s hillside restaurant. Dining at this unique restaurant also makes it possible to visit the Egebergparken Scuplture Park at your leisure as it is conveniently located only few minutes from the restaurant. The park is a sculpture and national heritage park with a strong international art collection surrounded by beautiful scenery with many spectacular lookout points. After dinner, you be taken back to your hotel. & Dinner Hotel: The Thief Hotel, Oslo (Deluxe Room) Day 7 Oslo to Copenhagen, DENMARK Today is yours to relax or explore the city at leisure until your driver picks you up to take you to the airport for your flight to Copenhagen. Day 8 Copenhagen Sightseeing This morning you will meet your guide at your hotel for a walking tour of the city. You will learn about the city's interesting history and visit some of the top sights of the Danish capital and its famous landmarks such as the statue of the Little Mermaid inspired by Hans Christian Anderson s fairy tale. You will also have chance to visit other iconic sites such as the City Hall, Christiansborg palace, The old City Center, picturesque Nyhavn harbour and Tivoli Gardens. After lunch at leisure, you will begin a trip to the Northern Sealand. You will drive along the scenic coastline, coming to the famous Kronborg Castle, better known as the Hamlet castle in the city of Elsinore (Helsingør). From here, you will cross into the countryside of North Sealand on our tour to Fredensborg, the palace of peace, where it is possible to take a walk in the Queen s own park. You will finish at the re-established 16th century castle Frederiksborg Castle and discover the Danish national history. In the evening you will return for a private cruise through the idyllic canals and beautiful harbor area. You will see the main sights of interest including Nyhavn, Holmens Church, The Opera, The Little Mermaid, Christianborg Palace and The Old Fish Market. After you disembark, you will make your way back to the hotel a few blocks away.
