Instructions to the Candidates: Introduction: Students will be admitted to various Courses in the constituent colleges of KLE University viz. J. N. Medical College Belagavi and KLE V.K. Institute of Dental Sciences Belagavi, KLE Colleges of Pharmacy located at Belagavi, Hubli and Bengaluru, KLE Institute of Physiotherapy, Belagavi, KLE Institute of Nursing Sciences, Belagavi and KLE Shri BMK Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya Belagavi, on the basis of interse merit earned by them in the KLEU- All India Entrance Test (KLEU-AIET 2016-17). 1.1 15% seats are reserved under management category including seats for NRI/and foreign students. 1.2 2.5% of seats are reserved for children of teaching faculty of KLE University (KTC category) 1.3 7.5% of the total s e a t s are r e s e r v e d for students hailing from educationally backward Belagavi Revenue Division (BRD Category) consisting of districts of Belagavi, Dharwad, Karwar, Vijayapur, Bagalkot, Haveri and Gadag. 1.4 Students claiming seats under BRD category should satisfy the following criteria. 1.4.a The student's parents should be permanent residents (of minimum 10 year) of one of the seven districts viz. 3. The KLEU-AIET 2016-17 will consist of one question paper. It will be set in English medium & will contain 200 multiple choice objective type questions, 50 each on Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology followed by 10+2 Boards/Universities. These questions will be set in general on the detailed syllabus given on the website. Each correct answer will get one mark. There is no negative marking. 4. Eligibility for appearing in KLEU-AIET 2016-17 & subsequent admission 4.1 Common Eligibility Requirements for admission to MBBS/BDS: Only those candidates who would satisfy or are likely to satisfy the relevant eligibility requirements for admission to a course will be considered eligible to appear for the KLEU All India Entrance Test (KLEU-AIET 2016-17) & subsequently for admission to that course. 4.2 Age: The candidate shall complete 17 years of age on or before the 31 st December 2016. 4.3 As per the regulations of statutory bodies, as laid out in Under Graduate regulations the minimum percentage of marks in the entrance test for eligibility for admission to Under Graduate Courses shall be 50 percent. 5. Qualifications: 5.1 MBBS: As prescribed by the Medical Council of India & KLEU. Note: 5.1.a For candidates seeking admission to MBBS course, the candidate should have scored minimum 60% marks in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the qualifying examination. i.e. XIIth /PUC II/ 10+2/ HSC / equivalent examination. The candidate should also have scored 50% marks in English language in the qualifying exam. 5.1.b Candidates who are likely to appear or who have appeared for qualifying examination i.e., PUC II/10+2/HSC or equivalent but whose results have not been declared will also be considered eligible to appear for KLEU-AIET- 2016-17, provided they have offered the above mentioned subjects at the said examination 5.1.c The candidates who have passed the qualifying examination [XII th / PUC-II/ 10+2/HSC / B.Sc.- Degree / first year of three year degree course as specified by Medical Council of India to be considered as eligibility for appearing in entrance test] earlier than 2014 are not eligible for applying to KLEU-AIET-2016-17 for seeking admission to MBBS course. 5.1.d 5.1.e Candidate should have passed qualifying examination from a board recognized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India. The candidates shall complete the age of 17 years on or before 31 st December 2016 (31/12/2016) of the year of admission to the MBBS/BDS course. Page 3 of 16
5.2 BDS: As prescribed by the Dental Council of India & KLEU. Note: 5.2.a For candidates seeking admission to BDS course, the candidate should have scored minimum 50% marks in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the qualifying examination. i.e. XIIth /PUC II/ 10+2/ HSC / equivalent examination. The candidate should also have passes in English language in the qualifying exam. 5.2.b Candidates who are likely to appear or who have appeared for qualifying examination i.e., PUC II/10+2/HSC or equivalent but whose results have not been declared will also be considered eligible to appear for KLEU- AIET-2016-17, provided they have offered the above mentioned subjects at the said examination. 5.2.c The candidates who have passed the qualifying examination (XII th / PUC-II/10+2/HSC / B.Sc.- Degree / first year of three year degree course as specified by Dental Council of India to be considered as eligibility for appearing in entrance test) 5.2.d 5.2.e 5.2.f Candidate should have passed qualifying examination from a board recognized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India. The candidates shall complete the age of 17 years on or before 31 st December (31/12/2016) of the year of admission to the MBBS/BDS course. Eligibility criteria for courses other than MBBS and BDS is provided at Annexure A of the brochure. 6. APPLICATION PROCEDURE: 6.1 A candidate desirous of appearing in the KLEU- AIET 2016-17, is required to complete the prescribed online application form available on the University website and submit the same to the University online, on or before the scheduled date. 6.2 The hard copy (Printout) of the application form submitted online must reach the University office on or before the scheduled date i.e. Saturday, 30 th April 2016 by 5.00pm Note: If order id is generated ensure from your bank account whether amount is deducted or not. If not deducted you can fill one more application form again. If amount is deducted please mail us your order id and your transaction detail and contact details to following e-mail id (itsection@kleuniversity.edu.in) so as to ensure or rectify the error of clarification of payment transaction. If you fill more than one application by making different payment no amount will be refunded. University will not refund/charge back in any case i.e duplication of application and Bank transaction fail. Page 4 of 16
6.3 INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPLETING THE APPLICATION FORM 6.3.1 The Application form and mode of payment of prescribed application should be submitted Online only. 6.3.2 The application form for admission to undergraduate courses KLEU-AIET 2016-17 is common for MBBS / BDS / B. Pharm /Pharm D/ BPT / B.Sc. (N) / P.C. B.Sc. /BAMS courses. The candidates should avoid overwriting, cutting, erasing on the form. Any discrepancies in the statements and /or submission of incomplete form will lead to its rejection/ cancellation of admission. 6.3.3 All the entries in the form should be in capital letters only. 6.3.4 Name mentioned in the form by the candidate should be the same as in the documents of secondary and Higher secondary. 6.3.5 If the date or month of birth is a single digit, it should be prefixed with a zero. For example 6 th February, 1985 should be written as:- 06/02/1985 6.3.6 The candidate should choose only one examination centre from the list of Centres and indicate clearly the examination centre at which he/she wishes to appear for examination by selecting the appropriate one. 6.3.7 Kindly choose the centre carefully, once the centre is chosen, it cannot be changed if changed then new application has to be submitted (No refund of amount for earlier submitted application) Note: In case of change of centre, candidate has to fill new application form and no amount will be refunded. In case of more than one application form filled with different centre latest application will be considered or university has right to decided consideration or allocation of examination of centre if candidate fails to inform regarding change in centre to university. As a convenience of the applicants university will allot centre which they have chosen, but in case if applicant are less/ seating capacity of centre is exhausted or any other matter, the university has full authority to cancel or make alternate allotment of centre in KLE university recognized centre across the country. 6.3.8 University may restrict the applications at any time if applications received more than the centre seating capacity 6.3.9 In case of change of category, candidate has to fill new application form and amount will not be refund for earlier submitted application. (Last date for applying change of category or last date of Application closes on Monday, 25 th April 2016, by 5.00 PM) 6.3.10 In case of more than one application form filled with different category latest application will be considered or university has right to decline or consideration of change of category if candidate fails to submit the sufficient documents for proof of category along with application form. 6.3.11 The declaration in the online application form is to be signed both by the applicant and the parent/guardian of the applicant, on the downloaded printed copy of the Application Form. 6.3.12 Address should be entered in capital letters. 6.3.13 In case of general category, candidates are not required to enclose the documents. (only In Case of BRD or KTC Category All necessary Document has to be sent/submit along with the application form, failing which their application will be considered under general category or rejected automatically during any stage of admission process) 6.3.14 Online submitted application form / acknowledgement must be printed and sent to the University address by registered post/ speed post/ courier mentioned below. 6.4 Address : The Registrar, KLE-AIET-2016-17 KLE University Nehru Nagar, Belagavi - 590 010. KARNATAKA. Ph:0831-2444 444 6.4.1 Candidates are advised to obtain & preserve proof of the 'Printed online' application form/ acknowledgement. This may be useful for obtaining duplicate Test Admission Ticket (TAT) card if required. 6.5 The application/ acknowledgement must reach either by hand or by post to the above address on or before the Saturday, 30 th April 2016 by 5.00pm. Please note that this fee is non-refundable, even if the application is rejected because of incomplete application or ineligibility of the candidate or if the applicant does not appear for the Entrance Test. 6.6 This University will not be responsible for any delay or loss of the Application / Admission Card/ Counseling Letter/ any other communication in transit. Such a delay will not be condoned. 6.7 The applicant himself has to ascertain from the University office whether his application has reached the university office or not. 6.8 In addition, once the printed Online submitted application form / acknowledgement reaches to University,the candidates have been provided with a facility to check the status of their application in the various stages of processing their application for taking the test. The candidate will have to click on the link indicating Status of application on the website. They can login to the system by entering their Order ID Number and date of birth as mentioned in their application form. After the login is successful, the candidates will be provided with various information such as application details, latest status of their application for taking the test, the status of their Test Admission Ticket (TAT), the details of one's test centre (address), and other alerts /information pertaining to the candidate. 6.9 ISSUE OF TAT CARDS: 6.9.1 TAT Cards (hall Ticket) will have to be downloaded by the candidates from the University Website w.e.f. Tuesday, 3 rd May 2016, 8.00pm onwards. The TAT Card will indicate the TAT Number & Examination Centre allotted to the candidate with its address. ( TAT card will not be sent through post or E-mail) 6.9.2 The candidate must not mutilate this TAT Card or Change any entry, made therein after the University authorities have authenticated it. 6.9.3 In case a candidate does not found his/her TAT Card (Hall Ticket) by Thursday, 5th May 2016 from University website; he/she should contact University office immediately. 6.10 The 'Help Desk' established on previous day (i.e. 6 th May 2016) at respective examination centres. 7. Conduct of KLEU-AIET-2016-17: 7.1 The examination will be conducted at the different cities in the designated examination centers from 02:00 PM to 5:00 PM for UG Courses on Saturday 7 th May 2016. The candidates must report at the centre at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time of commencement of the test. 7.2 The examination hall will be opened 30 minutes before the commencement of the test. Candidates are expected to take their seats at least 15 minutes before the commencement of the examination. If the candidates do not report in time, they are likely to miss some of the important instructions which will be announced in the examination hall. 7.3 Special procedures to authenticate the identity of students will be undertaken, and students are bound to cooperate. 7.4 Candidates will not be allowed to appear for the test if he/she is late by 30 minutes or more to reach the examination hall. 7.5 The Candidates must bring TAT card & show the same on demand for admission to the examination hall. A candidate, who does not have the TAT card issued by the KLE University, will not be admitted to the examination hall under any circumstances by the Centre Superintendent. 7.6 A seat with a number will be allotted to each candidate in the examination hall. 7.7 The candidates will not be allowed to carry any textual material, printed or hand written chits or any other material except the TAT Card inside the examination hall. Candidates will not be permitted to bring calculators, slide rules, clerk tables, and electronic watches with facilities of calculators, laptop computers, personal stereo systems, walkie-talkie set, paging devices, mobile telephones and any other objects/devices in the examination hall. Possession or use of such devices during the examination is prohibited & candidate is liable to be expelled if found using or possessing them. 7.8 Parents, relatives or friends of the candidates will not be allowed to enter into the premises of the examination centres. No arrangement will be made for tea, snacks etc. for the students or parents. 7.9 Candidates are advised to bring with them a card board or a clip board, on which nothing should have been written. This board will be useful to them while writing their responses in the answer sheet, in case tables in the examination hall do not have smooth surface. 7.10 Candidates should maintain perfect silence & discipline in the examination hall. Any conversation, gesticulation or disturbance in the examination hall shall be considered as misbehavior & the candidates involved in such behavior will be expelled from the examination hall. Similarly, if any candidate is found using unfair means or allowing someone else to impersonate him/ her, his/her candidate at the examination will be instantaneously cancelled and the matter informed to the nearest police station. 7.11 Smoking in the examination centre is strictly prohibited. Beverages or snacks of any kind are not allowed to be taken into the examination halls during examination hours. Page 7 of 16
7.12 During the test time, the invigilator will check the TAT Cards of the candidates to satisfy himself/herself about the identity of each candidate. The invigilator will also put his/her signature in the place provided in the Answer Sheet. 7.13 After completing the test & before handing over the Test Booklet & Answer Sheet back to the invigilator, the candidate should check once again to see whether all the particulars required in the Test Booklet & the Answer Sheet have been correctly written. He should ensure that the TAT Number, Centre Code & the Test Booklet number are correctly written on the answer sheet. 7.14 A warning bell will be given at the beginning of the test & also to mark the half-time of the test time. A bell will also be given at the closing time when the candidate must stop marking the responses or writing. 8. Mode of the Test : 8.1 For UG Courses the test will have 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of single best answer type on Physics, Chemistry, and Botany & Zoology (50 on each of them). The time allotted will be 180 minutes (3hrs) UG Courses. The test will begin at 2.00pm. Candidates are required to mark their answers in an ICR (Intelligent Character Reader) Answer Sheet. 8.2 Each correct answer is awarded one mark. There is no Negative Marking for wrong answers. 9. Syllabus: The test paper in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology includes questions based on the 10+2 syllabus followed by major 10+2 Boards/Universities. The detailed Syllabi can be downloaded from our website, http//www.kleuniversity.edu.in KLE-AIET 2016-17 Syllabi 10. TEST BOOKLET: 10.1 The candidate will be provided with a sealed Test Booklet with an answer sheet. The candidate will write with ball point pen blue or black, the required information regarding: Roll Number, Name, Test form number & Centre of examination & Test Booklet number in the columns on the answer sheet. He should also write information on the front page of Test Booklet without opening the seal. The candidates are advised not to open / break the seal of the same before they are instructed to do so by the invigilator. 10.2 In the Test Booklet, there will be 200 items / questions serially numbered from 001 to 200. Each item/question will be followed by four responses marked (A), (B), (C), & (D). Out of these four responses only one will be correct which needs to be selected & marked on the answer sheet. 11. THE ANSWER SHEET: 11.1 An answer sheet will be given to the candidates along with Test Booklet at the time of the test. 11.2 This answer sheet will be of special type which will be scanned mechanically by Optical Mark Scanner/ Intelligent Character Reader. So the candidates should handle the answer sheet very carefully. Page 8 of 16
11.3 There will be two sides of the answer sheet. SIDE 1 1. This side of the answer sheet begins with instructions for marking the responses. The following information is to be filled in with a blue or black ball point pen only, neatly & accurately. 2. Name of the Candidate 3. TAT Number 4. Test Booklet Number: Each test booklet has a number. SIDE 2 1.This side is to be used for marking responses to questions numbered 001 to 200, after every question number, four circles numbered (A), (B), (C), & (D) are provided for this purpose. The candidate must indicate his/her response to the question by darkening the appropriate circle completely with a blue or black ball point pen. If the candidate darkens more than one circle his response will be treated as wrong & will not be given marks. NOTE: Please use blue/black ball point pen for writing /marking particulars on side 2 of the answer sheet. 2. The candidate must ensure that the circle is completely darkened with a blue or black ball point pen. A lightly or faintly darkened circle is a wrong method of marking & will be rejected by the Optical Scanner. 3. The candidate must not fold the answer sheet & should not make any stray marks on it. 11.4 Changing an Answer: If a candidate wants to change any answer marked by him / her on the answer sheet, he/she must completely erase the existing ball point mark & then darken the appropriate circle with ball point pen. Candidate must not leave any visible mark in the circle after erasing. Otherwise the response will be rejected by the optical mark scanner. Such erasing should be avoided as far as possible. 11.5 Test Booklet number as filled in by the candidate in the answer sheet will be accepted as final for the purpose of evaluation. When the booklet number is left blank or more than one booklet numbers are indicated on the answer sheet, it will be deemed as incorrect booklet number & answer sheet will not be evaluated. 11.6 The candidate must bring his/her own materials such as blue or black ball point pen etc. 11.7 Important Instructions for marking: Use black/blue ball point pen only to darken the appropriate circles. Marking should be dark and should completely fill the circle. Darken only one circle for each question. Do not fold the answer sheet or make any stray marks on it. Make the marks only in the spaces provided. 11.8 Rough work: The candidate will not do any rough work or writing work on the answer sheet. All rough work is to be done in the Test Booklet itself. 11.9 Answer Sheet: 11.9a All answers need to be registered on a machine-readable ICR sheet, which is machine read and evaluated. The Test Takers / candidates must use only blue or black ballpoint pen for marking their answers on the ICR sheet. 11.9b ICR answer sheets will be supplied only at the examination hall. After the test is over the answer sheet along with the test booklet should be given back, before leaving the room. 11.9c Kindly note that the candidates must sign on their TAT and ICR answer sheets in the presence of the invigilator, after the invigilator has verified their hall tickets. Invigilators will also sign on the column indicating Invigilators Signature, if not; the answer sheet will be invalid and not be considered for processing. 11.9d Candidates are also required to write their names, and the question Booklet number in the space provided in their ICR answer sheet. The ICR answer sheet is machine assessed and therefore it should be handled with care. If there is any doubt, please contact the test invigilator immediately. 11.9e The KLEU-AIET 2016-17 test administration is timed. The test session is designed to be completed within 180 minutes as indicated in this brochure and no compromise will be made on the set time limits. The Chief Superintendent of the test centre is the official timekeeper. 11.9f Candidates (Test takers) will not be permitted to continue the test beyond the scheduled time limit. 11.10 Merit List: 11.10a The University will prepare a merit list amongst the qualified candidates who have appeared for KLEU-AIET - 2016-17 in accordance with the total marks obtained by them in Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology taken together in it for admission to undergraduate courses. The candidates will be called for counseling as per their ranking in this list. 11.00b In case two or more candidates obtained equal marks in the KLEU-AIET- 2016-17, the inter-se-merit of such candidates shall be determined in order of preference as under: Candidates obtaining higher marks in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the entrance examination, if equal. Candidates obtaining higher marks in Chemistry in the entrance examination, if equal. Candidates obtaining higher total marks in subjects of Biology, Chemistry, Physics in the 12th standard qualifying examination. (Such a tie will be settled at the time of counseling), if equal. Candidates obtaining higher percentage of marks in the 10th standard examination, if equal. The age of the candidate, (the elder candidate is ranked higher than the younger candidate). In case of tie at this level, computerized random selection of candidate will be carried out. 11.11 Counseling & on-the-spot-admission session: The counseling sessions will be conducted at KLE University, J.N. Medical College Campus, Nehru Nagar, Belagavi -590 010. The dates and the counseling procedure will be will be displayed on the University website later. Page 10 of 16
