FedLine Web Certificate Retrieval Procedures This guide provides step-by-step information to help you download a FedLine Web certificate for your Internet Explorer 6.0 browser. The certificate is issued to authenticate the user and to grant access to pre-approved sections of the FedLine Web application. FedLine Web requires browsers to be configured to use 128-bit encryption. If you are unsure of the encryption level of your browser or how to upgrade, please contact the Customer Contact Center servicing your Federal Reserve District. Customers in the Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Kansas City, New York and Philadelphia districts should call the Customer Contact Center in Kansas City at 1-800-333-2690. Customers in the Cleveland, Dallas, Minneapolis, Richmond, San Francisco and St. Louis districts should contact the Customer Contact Center in Minneapolis at 1-888-333-7010. Before proceeding with the instructions provided in this guide, please have both your Reference Number and Authorization Code available. - 3-02/2006

Retrieval procedures for Internet Explorer version 6.0 using Windows 2000 From the Internet Explorer browser, go to the Web address provided in the documents you received containing your Authorization Code and Reference Number. 1. From the Federal Reserve Banks Certificate Retrieval window, click Web Browser User. 2. Select Retrieve a Federal Reserve Banks User Certificate. - 4-02/2006

3. Enter your Reference Number and Authentication Code. 4. From the CSP drop down menu, select Microsoft Enhanced Cryptographic Provider v1.0. - 5-02/2006

5. Click Submit Request. 6. You may receive a caution box stating, This Web site is requesting a new certificate on your behalf. Click Yes. - 6-02/2006

7. The RSA Exchange Key window will appear; click the Set Security Level button. 8. Select High for the security level and click Next. - 7-02/2006

9. In the Password for box, enter your name. Your name is used to identify your certificate. Create a password, and then enter the same password in the Confirm box. Your password is used to access your certificate. Click Finish. Note: It is important to remember your password, as the Customer Contact Center cannot reset it. If you forget your password, a new certificate must be issued. Do not share your password with anyone. 10. Notice that the security level is now set to High. Click OK. - 8-02/2006

11. You may receive a caution box stating, This Web site is adding one or more certificates to this computer Do you want this program to add the certificate now? Click Yes. 12. `The certificate has been successfully retrieved. - 9-02/2006

13. To verify you have the correct certificate size open Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet Options, Content, Certificates. 14. Select the newly downloaded credential and click on the View button. - 10-02/2006

15. Click on the Details tab. - 11-02/2006

16. Look at the field called Public key and verify the value is set to 1024 Bits. NOTE: If the value displayed is not 1024 bits, you will need to download your credential again. You must notify the Federal Reserve immediately to initiate the credential reissuance process. Please call your Customer Contact Center to initiate this process. Customers in the Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Kansas City, New York and Philadelphia districts should call the Customer Contact Center in Kansas City at 1-800-333-2690.
