Cleaning and Restoring Tile and Grout One of the biggest challenges in keeping a restroom looking and smelling clean and fresh is keeping tile and grout clean. The procedures below will allow you to clean and restore your tile and grout back to it s original colors. Sealing will allow the grout to stay clean and easy to maintain, making the whole restroom clean. Phase #1, Cleaning/Restoring Grout A) Apply Ultra Stripper, diluted 1:8 (16 oz/gal.). Let solution sit for 5-10 minutes. Scrub fl oor with a stiff brush or fl oor machine, autoscrubber or Minuteman Port-A-Scrub using nylo-grit brushes that will get into the grouted areas of the tile fl oors. Pick up spent solution. B) Apply Foamy MAC, use straight or dilute up to 1:8, depending of level of dirt. Let solution sit on fl oor for 5-10 minutes. Scrub fl oor with a stiff brush or fl oor machine, autoscrubber. Pick up spent solution. Rinse fl oor thoroughly with fresh water and let dry. From this......to this with the help of Ultra Stripper and Foamy MAC! Phase #2, Sealing and Protecting Grout Pour a small quantity of seal onto fl oor. Spread evenly with applicator or squeegee and work seal into the grout. Allow seal to soak into the grout and dry for one hour before reopening to traffi c. Wipe ceramic tiles with damp cloth to remove any residue. Reapply as needed, generally every 6-12 months. Proven Grout Cleaning Products Ultra Stripper has proven itself very effective at deep cleaning dirt, grease and any residual fl oor finish on ceramic tile and grout commonly found in restrooms. Foamy MAC is an effective 2nd step at bringing grout back to it s original color. It cleans soap scum, mineral deposits and rust stains from all surfaces. Both Ultra Stripper and Foamy MAC meets Green Seal s environmental standard for industrial and institutional fl oorcare products based on its reduced human and aquatic toxicity and reduced smog production potential. 5
