Barrie Primary Care Campus Location The Barrie Primary Care Campus will lead the market as the most advance primary health care center in Ontario. It will be a significant development for the City of Barrie, the Barrie medical community and for the Park Place Land district. It will be built and tenant in a way that will set the new standard for primary care delivery in Ontario and bring positive economic effects. Location: at Bayview Avenue and Big Bay Point Road, one block from a soon to be built connection to Hwy 400 Size: 79,000 Floors: 3 floors Parking: 5 stalls per 1,000 square feet with access isles and walking paths Occupancy: Fall 2015 The Barrie Primary Care Campus is part of the 200 acre Park Place mixed use site. It is located on a 5.5 acre parcel at Bayview Avenue and Big Bay Point Road The property lends itself to easy access and exposure in a high traffic area and is adjacent to a wide variety of amenities and services and public transportation The campus provides design features and materials that promote health and wellness while being efficient in operations and space utility. The Barrie Primary care campus is designed to be the leading primary healthcare facility in Ontario that will attract a broad range of health care professionals, support services and allied health care providers in a campus environment. The campus will house the Barrie and the Community Family Health Team that consists of a team of physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, social workers, dietitians and other healthcare professionals to provide high quality care for their community. Their goal of improving timeliness to appropriate care and reduced waiting times and better patient outcomes is met through partnerships with family practice offices, educating patients and maximizing health care resources. The Barrie and Community Family Health Team is developing the Barrie Community Health Link and are in the initial stages of implementing this initiative throughout the city of Barrie and surrounding areas. Community Health Links provides coordinated, efficient and effective care to patients with complex needs. When the hospital, the family doctor, the long-term home care helpers, community organizations and others work as a team, the patient receives a far better, more coordinated care. The healthcare providers will design a care plan for each patient and work together with the patient and their families to ensure they receive exceptional care.
