The company is an independent family business, based in the Netherlands and operates in more than fifty countries around the world. Sustainable EPC and Marine Contractor Van Oord has been involved in a large number of offshore wind energy projects in the past decade. Originally Van Oord focused on construction activities such as export and inter-array cable installation, scour protection and seabed preparation. Since 2002 we have expanded our activities with foundation and turbine installation to provide our clients with an integrated installation package. In 2007 Van Oord established a separate business unit Offshore Wind Projects (OWP) to consolidate all activities for offshore wind farm construction. Since then we have been responsible for the design, engineering, procurement en construction (EPC) of many wind farms in Europe for the Balance of Plant scope. Sustainable EPC and Marine Contractors

In all tendering procedures and projects to be carried out, we investigate ways of completing the project better, faster or at lower cost. Our centre of excellence is our international Engineering Department, which combines the necessary highquality expert knowledge of design, construction and research. Our equipment The visionary projects of our clients can only be realised by the best people working with the latest technology. That is why Van Oord operates the world s most advanced fleet, which encompasses specialised vessels and dedicated equipment and tools. Van Oord Offshore Wind Projects ordered the Aeolus, an innovative offshore installation vessel for transport and installation of foundations and wind turbines, which became operational in spring 2014. The vessel is 139.40 m long, 38.06 m wide and is fitted with a crane capable of hoisting over 990 tonnes. In spring 2015 Van Oord s first cable-laying vessel for constructing offshore wind parks became operational. The Nexus is 122.68 m long and is equipped with a 5,000 tons carousel and a 100 tons knuckle-boom crane.
