BRENNAN ACTING AGENCY - INFORMATION If you are not a student of Brennan Performing Arts but wish to be represented by our agency please refer to our SPECIALISED WORKSHOP PACKAGE below and our HOW TO APPLY information AS WE HAVE LIMITED PLACES ON OUR BOOKS ONLY A SELECT FEW ACTORS WILL BE ACCEPTED. All students of Brennan Performing Arts who have opted in to join our Agency via their registration forms will be represented for castings through our associated business 'Brennan Acting Agency'. Brennan Acting Agency represents Adults and Young Actors. Brennan Acting Agency regularly receive audition breakdowns. We will send suitable clients headshots and biogs to be screened privately by casting directors. Often only two to three young actors will be invited to attend an audition based on their 'look', 'age', suitability for the particular role, impressions made at previous castings or 'on set' experience. We do not inform parents when we send these submissions as we are doing this on a near daily basis. Given that there could be up to 20 roles per Film/TV/ Commercial campaign, we are sending hundreds of suggestions every month. It is not feasible for us to notify parents of each submission unless the casting director calls a particular youth in for an audition, in which case we will notify parents as soon as possible. When directors require a wider range of artistes with various 'look's or experience they may request us to share this on our social media. We will then post a casting call on our Facebook page so make sure to Like it to stay fully informed. www.facebook.com/brennanactingagencyperformingartsstageschools FAQ's Is There An Annual Fee To Join Brennan Acting Agency? No if you are a student of 'Brennan Performing Arts' and you wish to be represented by 'Brennan Acting Agency', there is currently no fee. Do I need a Headshot? Yes. For existing Brennan Performing Arts Students who wish to be represented, headshots are taken yearly (generally end of September). The fee for this is approximately 10-15 to cover photographer expenses. Everyone will receive copies of their headshots. If you already have good quality headshots then you can email

them to fiona@brennanagencykids.com Without a headshot we cannot submit actors for castings. When & Where Do Auditions Take Place? Auditions generally take place in Dublin City Centre and most usually in the Courtyard Studios in Ringsend./ Film Base in Temple Bar / Central Hotel, Dublin 2. Auditions usually take place after school hours. However pending clients availability auditions may also be held during school hours on school days. Please note that if your child is part of our agency and we contact you about an audition, it is important you attend. There are many young actor agencies with only a limited amount of audition slots available, however we do appreciate it isn t always possible. Please inform us as soon as possible if you become aware you cannot attend the audtion. How Long Do Auditions Generally Last? Commercial auditions generally last five minutes. Film/TV auditions can last anywhere from 5-30 minutes. How Many Young Actors Are Invited To Attend Castings? Commercial Castings - anywhere from 40 to100. Casting directors need to pick their very best from all of the Agencies so clients need a good bunch of actors to choose from TV /Film - anywhere from 40 to 300, sometimes even more if they are big castings, nationwide or international searches etc Will You Hear Back After Your Audition? No, you won't unless you have been shortlisted, recalled or cast - in which case your Agent will call or text you. Casting Directors can see anywhere from 100 kids to 200 adults per day for castings and therefore they do not have the time to get back to you if you are unsuccessful. Generally they will already be on to their next casting. If however we do receive feedback on an audition then we will always pass it on. If Cast, What Are Our Commission Rates? If cast your Agent will negotiate contracts, get paperwork in order and assist with many other agency related matters. Your Agent will invoice for your payment and commission is deducted as follows:-

Commercial 15% TV & Film 12.5% Theatre 12.5% Your Agent will transfer your payment to you accompanied by an email to show the breakdown of fees. You are responsible for your own tax affairs although we can provide general advice on this. Do You Help With Preparation for Castings? If the Casting is for TV / Film / Stage we will most likely receive a script for the child to learn. One of our drama teachers or Ronnie McCann will always endeavour to meet with the child beforehand and practice the script with them. Sometimes and particularly for UK castings we will need to do a 'self-tape' and send it to the Casting Director. We provide this service free of charge. Summer months are generally trickier to arrange a read through ahead of audition but we will do so if possible. If the casting is for a commercial then one of our Agents will contact you and give you as much information as possible. These will mostly involve improvisation which our students learn about in class. If there is a script involved we will email it to you. I Am Still Unsure Whether To Have My Child Represented? A lot of children adapt really quickly to the casting process and for other children they might not be ready to hear the words 'sorry not this time' and the last thing we want is for it to effect anyone s confidence. That's when you the parent need to decide, if or when the time is right to join the Agency. All of our students so far who have auditioned have been fantastic. Even when they haven t gotten the job they have still gotten a great boost from doing so well. Of course it is an amazing feeling when someone does get the job and this tends to lead to more opportunities happening. As mentioned before, this is often because Casting Directors pick and choose who they wish to see. Unfortunately the way it usually works is if you don t hear, you didn t get it this time. Some Casting Directors are however good at getting back to us especially in relation to children. Other Castings / Agency Opportunities RTE / TV3 & various production companies look for children for various programmes e.g. Young Peoples Programme on RTE or reality kids programmes.

All students in our school will be given the opportunity to take part in these programmes. Again it depends on what comes in and what age bracket it is targeted at. Please note that these programmes are generally unpaid with no travel expenses. Students that have taken part in these programmes have had an amazing time & frequently come away with goodie bags etc! Check Out Our Credits Page For Our Successes To Date http://www.brennanperformingarts.com/studentsuccess.html Brennan Acting Agency Workshop Program This program has been specifically set up for students who cannot attend our classes (either e.g. geographically or timing issues), past students and our own existing students. The program offers: Representation by the Brennan Acting Agency for a year (which can be renewed on a yearly basis) Photo session to have a suitable and memorable headshot Three weekend workshops (throughout the year) Workshops are lead by Ronnie McCann and Noella Brennan. They will include Acting on Camera, Audition Technique, Analysing the Script and Characterisation. Self-Taping - this is becoming an increasingly popular form of auditioning Self-taping includes Rehearsal of scenes, recording of scenes, formatting of the video and submission to the Casting Director. In the event that you live too far away from us to attend classes you will learn about the ''Art of Self Taping' at our Workshop. It is crucial to produce a good self-tape as you will need to give the very best impression to the Casting Director. The final workshop will be hosted by Louise Kiely Casting (one of Ireland s leading casting directors) where you will have the opportunity to perform for Louise or an associate casting director from her office. They will also provide you with first-hand feedback. If You Are A Past Student / Or You Have Been Selected To Join Our Agency please contact Fiona to discuss the package rates

PLEASE NOTE As mentioned, this program is also available to existing students aged eight years old and upwards who would like to specifically take part in the weekend workshops. As they already have their headshots and are automatically already part of the Agency, the rate will only be for the workshops. Please also note: You may take the first workshop without doing the other two. However, the final two workshops come as a package as they involve prepping for the workshop with Louise Kiely Casting.
