Geberit Syphonics Geberit Pluvia is the leading syphonic roof drainage system used throughout the world. Architects, Consultants and Contractors have Examples of the 3 Outlet Types Available (See following pages for other variations of outlet) Series 7 (max 12l/s capacity) Series 7 Outlet in a Steel Profile Roof Deck (without Vapour Barrier Clamping unit) chosen the system for some of the most prestigious and ground breaking building Joint foil to suit membrane (see page 3) Pluvia Outlet 359.551.00.1 Roof Membrane Thermal Insulation Vapour Barrier designs due to the freedom and flexibility it provides. Pluvia uses the ingenious gravity induced vacuum principle to create a syphonic action, which allows the complete drainage of a roof area with smaller diameter pipes than used in a conventional gravity system. Geberit Pluvia Advantages No slope in pipework required Less underground pipe Less sitework Fewer pipes and fittings Steel Roof Profile Decking 90 0 Bend Electroweld Coupling and Brackets (Creating on Anchor Point) Geberit Pluvia Rail System Series 7+ (max 25l/s capacity) Series 7+ 25 Litre Outlet in a Concrete Slab Roof Pluvia Outlet 359.502.00.1 Geberit PVC Coated Outlet Flange bonded to PVC Roof Membrane (This outlet is also available without PVC coating 359.573.00.1 for other roof finishes Reduced pipe dimensions Less space required Self cleaning action Quick and easy fastening system The only system to be fully BBA Accredited Concrete Slab 90 280 Series 5 (max 6l/s capacity) Series 5 Outlet - 56mm(6 L/s) with PVC Roof Finish Pluvia Outlet 359.501.00.1 Geberit PVC Coated Outlet Flange bonded to PVC Roof Membrane CD-ROM available with installation details of various outlets and roof configurations. Pluvia Rail System The Geberit Pluvia rail system was developed for the installation of horizontal pipework. Advantages of the rail system Quick installation Fewer ceiling fastening points Controls thermal movement No expansion because of rigid installation No expansion sockets in the horizontal pipes Simple prefabrication is possible One fastening for anchor and sliding brackets The expansion and contraction of the pipework is prevented by the rail system, the properties of HDPE allows rigid fixing. G90.960.00 Pluvia Rail Support Angle Bracket Allows T connections using single studding drop Locks rail together providing a true anchor point Quick and easy to install Pluvia Rail 362.863.26.1 Threaded Rod M10 Tension Wedge 362.865.26.1 Pluvia Bracket Connector to Rail 362.864.26.1 Rail Clamp 362.862.26.1 6

Brackets, Anchor Points and Expansion Methods of creating fixed and sliding supports Anchor Point Anchor Point Anchor Point Sliding Clamp Anchor Point HORIZONTAL OR VERTICAL Using conventional fixing Anchor Point HORIZONTAL Using Geberit Rail System See application guide of HDPE system for diameter of fixing stud VERTICAL Instruction for expansion joint method The following conditions are important to ensure perfect and easy assembly of the sleeve: 1. Chamfering the inserted pipe end to approximate 15 2. Check the scale on the outer surface of the expansion socket for insertion depth. 3. Mark the correct insertion depth on the pipe. 4. Lubricate the pipe end well with soft soap, Silicone or Vaseline. N.B. Do not use oil or grease which can damage the rubber seal. Maintenance Geberit recommend that a maintenance programme is always implemented on completion of the project. The intervals between inspection will depend on the location of the building. The maintenance programme should include:- 1 2 3 Clearing of all outlets of any debris or silt as shown in figure 1. a Remove lid b + c Remove function disc d Rinse function disc with water Check that no pipes connecting to outlets are blocked with silt etc, if blockages are found they can be removed by using a water jet through the outlet after removing the top unit and function plate (a, b & c in figure 1) Ensure all outlets have gratings and tops in place. `order spares from Geberit if necessary. e Wipe outlet with cloth d a c b b e Figure 1 Testing of System On completion of a Geberit Pluvia System the integrity of all joints must be tested using an air test as described in BS EN 12056, which in general requires a 38 mm air test for 3 minutes. If the installation has been designed using the Geberit software it is not normally necessary to performance test the installation. Third party approval by the BBA included verification that the software is a true reflection of the actual flow performance. 10
