ARMY HOCKEY CAMP Hockey Camp Director: Brian Riley Assistant Hockey Camp Director: Noah Strone Located just 50 miles north of New York City, Army Hockey Camps at West Point are a one of a kind summer hockey experience featuring elite coaching, breathtaking scenery and an unmatched look at America s history. The overnight tuition cost include all meals, housing at the cadet barracks, use of all facilities, as well as a hockey jersey and team picture. Each camper will receive three hours of ice daily, two hours of fundamental skills, power skating in the morning and an hour scrimmage game in the evening. HOCKEY CAMP INFORMATION - Entrance o All visitors 16 and over must present a valid ID to enter West Point. o Please anticipate and plan accordingly, all luggage to be inspected prior to admittance on to West Point. o All camper and visitors are to enter through Stony Lonesome Gate and proceed to A Lot. o Signs will be posted. - Parking and Shuttle to Dorms o All vehicles will park in A Lot or designated parking areas. Signs will be posted to direct you to your specific sport camp check in location. Bring all luggage and equipment to Holleder Center for check-in. - Check In o For ALL sessions, registration will take place on Sunday from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at the Holleder Center (Tate Rink). The registration packet will include your child s group, room number, and instruction sheet. At 11:00AM, the campers will get their first opportunity to meet their respective coaches and counselors. Campers are placed in groups based on age. The first ice session on Sunday afternoon will feature a skills assessment. Group placement may change based on playing ability. All activities, on and off the ice, will be done within that group. After lunch, a swim test will be given. Daily schedules may change based on session enrollment. - Hockey Facilities o Campers will be training at the Holleder Center / Tate Rink and Foley Field (Off-Ice Training) - Dormitory/Barracks o All overnight campers are housed and supervised in dormitory rooms operated by the United States Military Academy. PLEASE NOTE: This facility is not air conditioned so fans are encouraged. - Rules and Regulations o All campers are required to comply with the Army Summer Camp guidelines which are established to ensure personal safety, hygiene and property damage prevention. Rules and expectations are discussed during the start of each session and are posted inside the dormitory. Any camper found to be disruptive and unwilling to follow behavior guidelines will be sent home without a refund. - Communicating with Campers at Camp o All Parents, please call the camp office during business hours to leave a message for your child (845-938-3711). Please refrain from bringing cell phones, we find that it is a distraction. For emergencies, Please call the camp office.
HOCKEY CAMP INFORMATION - Cancellations o All refunds must be approved by the Camp Director. Refunds are processed on a case by case basis and you will be notified once a final decision has been made regarding any refund. - Camper Dining o Campers will dine at the West Point Club, a very visible and prominent location on campus. First Meal served to your camper will be lunch. Campers will be served breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. On the last day of camp your camper s last meal served will be dinner. NOTE: Your children will be well-fed at camp. If you choose to send snacks with them we ask that these snacks be limited in quantity and be healthy in nature as past experiences have shown us young campers tend to overindulge. Thus, resulting in stomach-aches and sugar highs that are unpleasant for all involved. The children will also have the opportunity to purchase snack items from Grant Hall on a cash only basis. - Camper Housing Rules o We ask that campers do not bring valuables. The United States Military Academy and Army Athletic Association are not responsible for lost or stolen items. o The United States Military Academy has a Zero Tolerance for theft or damage to personal or government property. - Camp Store o On the day of registration, we will have a camp store table where you can open an account for your child. Parents, please bring CASH ONLY to put into your child s account. We will not be accepting credit cards or checks on that day. A camp representative will have an envelope with your child s name on it and the money will be deposited. Each night your child will be able to purchase snacks, soda, etc and the purchase amount will be deducted from the account. This policy will prevent campers from leaving money in their rooms. At the end of camp, the remaining balance will be placed in your child s checkout envelope.
