Introduction Instant Connect with Microsoft Communicator incorporates real time instant messaging, file sharing, presence information and web conferencing capabilities - all fully integrated with your Outlook. It delivers streamlined communications for users so they can find and communicate with the right person, right now, from the applications they use most. Office Communicator 2007 R2 PC Desktop Client Manual configuration of Office Communicator 1. The Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 R2 client is included with your service and can be downloaded from the TELUS Unified Communication Services - Support Site. 2. Launch Microsoft Office Communicator 3. Open the connection menu in the top left hand corner of your communicator window and select Connect > Change Sign-In Address. 4. Add your email address as the Sign-in Address and click Advanced.
3. Choose Manual configuration 4. Specify server name: Internal server name: sip.ocs.telus.com:443 External server name: sip.ocs.telus.com:443 5. Choose connect using: TLS and click OK. 6. Then, click OK to close the Tips: Outlook communicator will attempt to sync to your default Outlook Profile. You can select your default Outlook Profile by going Start > Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles. If you cannot locate the Mail icon within your Windows Control Panel, please try the following steps. To the left of the Windows Control Panel, but in the same window, please locate Classic View. If Mail still does not appear as an individual icon, please look for it under Show 32-bit Control Panel Items. You may need to install a patch to gain full functionality between Microsoft Communicator and Outlook. If this is the case a notification will be displayed in Communicator with a link to the update from Microsoft. Troubleshooting If you experience issues with Audio/Video Conferencing, media or file transfer, the problem may be that the necessary ports are not open on your firewall. Refer to Appendix A in this guide and verify that the corresponding ports are open. Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 R2 Getting Started Guide This guide gets you started with Office Communicator 2007 R2. Office Communicator Web Access About Office Communicator Web Access The 2007 R2 release of Microsoft Office Communicator Web Access provides browser-based client access to many of the features found in Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 R2, including instant messaging; audio conferencing; desktop sharing; and enhanced presence (the ability to know whether or not someone is online and, if so, whether he or she is ready, willing, and able to communicate with you). With Communicator Web Access, you can send instant messages; take part in multiparty conference calls; keep track of who is or isn t online; let people know whether or not you are online; and even view whatever another person s computer desktop. Because Communicator Web Access provides these capabilities over your Web browser, there is no need to install additional software of any kind to access most Communicator Web Access functionality. You must install the Communicator Web Access plug-in in order to share your desktop with other people. Furthermore, these capabilities are not limited to people using Microsoft Windows. If you are a Macintosh or Linux user and you are using a supported Web browser, you can also use Communicator Web Access Signing In to Communicator Web Access Before you can sign in to Communicator Web Access, you must disable the popup blocker for your Web browser. Communicator Web Access makes extensive use of popup windows. For example, each time you start a new instant messaging session that session takes place in a popup window. For details about disabling pop-up blockers, see the documentation for your browser. The sign-in window looks like this: Signing-in to Communicator Web Access: 1. Open a browser window. 2. In the address field of your browser, type telus.com/instantmsg 3. Enter your username@yourdomain.com and associated password, select one of the following: This is a public or shared computer (session will time out after 15 minutes) This is a private computer (session will time out after 720 minutes) 4. Click Sign In

Microsoft Office Communicator Mobile for Windows Mobile Getting Started Guide About Microsoft Office Communicator Mobile The 2007 R2 release of Microsoft Office Communicator Mobile for Windows Mobile brings the presence, instant messaging, and voice capabilities of Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 R2 to your mobile device. Configuring Microsoft Office Communicator Mobile To configure your account settings: 1. On your mobile device, click Start and then click the Communicator Mobile icon to start the program. 2. Click the Options menu and then click Account 3. Change the Sign-in address to your business email address. 4. Tap Domain\User name, and then type your domain and user name in the specified format. You can find your domain and user name under the heading Windows Mobile Settings on the Summary page on the UC Management Centre. To access the Summary page from your home screen on the UC Management Centre, select Services from the top menu bar, click on Exchange, and then select Summary from the drop-down menu. 5. Tap Password, and then type the password for your business email account. 6. If you do not want to type your password every time you sign into Communicator Mobile for Windows Mobile, select the Remember my password check box. 7. Tap Done. To configure your general settings: 1. Select the Expand distribution subgroups check box if you need to expand distribution lists. 2. Select the Show Recent Contacts check box. 3. Select the Show Delegates check box. 4. Select the Show Team-Call Group check box. 5. Select the Display on Home Screen check box if you want Communicator Mobile for Windows Mobile to show up on the Home Screen of the mobile device. 6. Select the Turn on logging check box. 7. Tap Done.
To configure your server information: Communicator Mobile for Windows Mobile is set for Automatic Configuration after installation. Use the method described below to configure your server manually if Automatic Configuration is not enabled, or if Automatic Configuration fails. 1. Start Communicator Mobile on the mobile device. 2. On the Options screen, tap Server. 3. Set the External server name to sip.ocs.telus.com:443 4. Set the Internal server name to sip. ocs.telus.com:443 5. Under Connect using, tap TLS. 6. Tap Done. Meetings in the Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2007 client are much like conventional meetings held in a conference room. With the Conferencing Add-in for Outlook, you can do the following without leaving the Microsoft Office Outlook messaging and collaboration client: Schedule a Live Meeting session in the same way that you schedule and invite attendees to other meetings, and define participants as attendees or presenters. Set meeting options. Schedule a conference call. Start sharing information using Office Communicator 2007 R2. Download the Conferencing Add-in for Outlook (32-bit) Download the Conferencing Add-in for Outlook (64-bit) Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2007 R2 Getting Started Guide In this guide, you will learn how to join meetings quickly, schedule meetings, present meetings, and share presentations, as well as other information.
