In order to make an intelligent contribution, you will need to finish the required reading and writing assignments before class. You will need to keep up with these assignments on a weekly basis. Assignments <Required> (1) Reading Each unit includes a section 1. Preliminary Reading. Read through a passage, check new words, and answer the questions in 2. Vocabulary Build-Up and 3. Reading Comprehension. (2) Writing From the list of topic, choose one which you would like to write. Considering the discussion during the class, make a brief essay (at least 100 words) and submit it to CLASS. (3) Vocabulary Each lesson starts with a vocabulary quiz. <Recommended> (a) Download a podcast and listen as much as possible. (b) Read newspaper as much as possible. Evaluation TOEIC-IP: 30%, Final Exam: 30%, Assignments: 20%, Vocabulary Test Scores: 20% Notes Lecture attendance is tracked and monitored. If you miss three lessons in a semester, you will be automatically dropped from this class. It is important to regularly check the course website and download the weekly assignments.
