The second year is split into two classes, the Patissier Class, where students gain general knowledge about confectionery, and the Boulanger Class, where students study about baking at a professional level. Through these classes, students will acquire advanced skills and knowledge. (One-year program) Confectionery Class/Double License Class 1 Term: One year (Early April 2016 to Early March 2017) 4 Description: In the Confectionery Class, students will focus on Western and Japanese confectioneries and baking, learn about the delicious tastes each has to offer, and acquire related fundamental skills and knowledge. During the first year of the Double License Class, students learn about various genres of confectionery as part of the (Confectionery Class) to qualify for the Confectionery Hygiene Master examination. During the second year of the Double License Class, students study a wide range of different cuisines as part of the (Culinary Class, Tsuji Culinary Institute) to obtain the Chef s License at time of graduation. TSUJI Culinary Institute Advanced Culinary Arts and Management (Three-year program) Note: In planning 1 Term: Three years (Early April 2016 to Early March 2019) 4 Description: In the first year of this course, students will study a wide range of different culinary genres, from French, Italian, Japanese, and Chinese cuisines to confectionaries, and select a genre which they will major in. In the second year, they will acquire advanced specialized techniques through restaurant simulations. The third year is designed to foster professionals who can contribute to people and society through food. Students will learn about the relationships between people, society, and food as well as how they relate to it all as chefs. They will then express this knowledge through their cooking. Students will mainly learn through seminars, active learning, and similar formats. Culinary Arts and Management (Two-year program) 1 Term: Two years (Early April 2016 to Early March 2018) 4 Description: In the first year of this course, students will study a wide range of different culinary genres, from French, Italian, Japanese, and Chinese cuisines to confectionaries as well as everything from the basics of cooking to application and new trends in a systematic manner. Students will also select a genre which they will major in. In the second year, they will acquire advanced specialized techniques through restaurant simulations. (One-year program) Culinary Class/Cafe Class 1 Term: One year (Early April 2016 to Early March 2017) 4 Description: In the first year, students study everything from the basic skills required as a chef to create international cuisine and basic knowledge, including nutrition and dietetics, to the application of such skills and knowledge. In the Culinary Class, students learn in-depth about the basics of French, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, and ethnic cuisines as well as confectionaries. Students in the Cafe Class will learn in more depth skills and knowledge, such as food arrangement approaches, required of people who are considering opening their own cafes while learning the basics of international cuisine just as students in the Culinary Class. Eligibility Selection Category General Selection Eligibility Applicants must satisfy either one of the conditions listed under item A AND at least one of the other conditions listed (B-1 to B-5). A. Have completed at least 12 years of school education overseas OR equivalent as specified by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan. B-1. Have passed either the N1 or N2 level (1st level or 2nd level) of the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test 1 B-2. Have passed the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students 2 (with a score of at least 200 points for the Japanese language section) B-3. Have passed the BJT Business Japanese Proficiency Test with a score of at least 400 points. B-4. Have attended a certified Japanese language school 3 for at least six months (must have been a certified course) B-5. Have attended a school in Japan recognized by Section 1 of the Japan School Education Act (excluding kindergartens). (Includes independent Japanese courses at junior colleges and universities which are at least one year in duration.) 1 Japanese-Language Proficiency Test: Administered in Japan each July and December by Japan Educational Exchanges and Services (JEES) and in overseas countries through cooperation between the Japan Foundation and local organizations. Persons who take the test overseas are allowed to submit the JLPT passing notification before submitting their JLPT certification if necessary due to timing issues. 2 Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students: Administered in Japan and overseas countries in June and November by Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO). 3 Certified Japanese language school: A facility for studying Japanese as listed in Tables 1, 2, 3, and 5 of the Specification of Japanese language Learning Facilities based on Regulations of Standards Related to Residence Status Ministerial Ordinance to Provide for Criteria Pursuant to Article 7, paragraph (1), item (ii) of the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act (Ministry of Justice Notice) 41 42

Announcement of Examination Results Applicants will be informed of the results by letter within two weeks after the selection process has been completed. When paying tuition via bank transfer, please use the special slip from our school. When wiring money for tuition payment from overseas, please include any fees charged by the intermediary bank and recipient bank. Please write the full name of the enrolling student in the section for the sender s name. A certificate of admission is issued to persons who have made a tuition payment. If you reside in Japan: After confirming that the school has received your tuition payment, a certificate of admission will be sent to you by simple registered mail. If your residence status will expire before entering the school, please apply on your own (or through your Japanese language school) to make any necessary changes or updates. The school will create and send the For organization sections which are necessary for the Application for Certificate of Eligibility. If you reside outside of Japan: The certificate of admission will not be sent to your home country. The school will present the certificate of admission at the Immigration Office on behalf of the successful candidate when applying for Application for Certificate of Eligibility. If a Certificate of Eligibility is issued, it will be sent to you by post. Once you receive it, please apply for a study visa at the Japanese Embassy or consulate in your home country and bring your Certificate of Eligibility along with your passport. Student accident insurance through the Tsujicho Group via the Association for Technical and Career Education provides on and off campus coverage 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. All new students are required to purchase this insurance in order to provide a sense of security so that students can focus on their studies. This school does not require contributions, school debt payments, air-conditioning fees, meal fees, etc. TSUJI Culinary Institute will change its curriculum from Therefore, there may be changes in required educational materials, including computers, as well as changes in prices. TSUJI Culinary Institute will notify new students regarding the type of computer required for the Advanced Culinary Arts and Management and Culinary Arts and Management before entering the school. Transportation expenses for travel to locations where TSUJI Culinary Institute s Advanced Culinary Arts and Management and Culinary Arts and Management training classes are held are not provided. France Studies Tuition and Miscellaneous Expenses (for the 2016 school year) Students who participate in the France Studies will study overseas at the Tsujicho Group s France location based in Lyon after completing the first year of their program. While enrolled during their first year, students are able to take classes during the year that will help support their overseas studies. In addition, students are not required to take an examination for entrance into the Tsuji schools of Advanced studies in France. (Since this course focuses on overseas study in France, there are times when students will not be allowed to study in France due to factors such as academic performance and attendance.) Note: Students are not able to receive scholarships from the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) to attend the Tsuji schools of Advanced studies in France. 5 Entry Withdrawal After completing the application process, please contact the general admissions information office if you must withdraw from entering the school due to unavoidable circumstances. Tuition, excluding the entrance fee, will be reimbursed only if the procedure is completed before the date specified below. Deadline for Submission: Thursday, March 17, 2016 Note: Submission must arrive by 17:00 on the deadline date. Note: Tuition, including the extrance fee, will be reimbursed if the accepted applicant is not permitted resident status before school entry. (The examination fee is not reimbursed). Via Shinkansen Once you have arrived at Shin-Osaka Station by Shinkansen, transfer to the Midōsuji Line (Osaka Municipal Subway). Take a Midōsuji Line train from Shin-Osaka Station (M13) to Tennōji Station (M23) (approx. 23 min.). Please write the amount of tuition fees which will be provided by your supporter, and the amount which will be provided by yourself. (Enter the information so that the amount provided by your supporter and the amount provided by yourself totals the tuition amount.) Please write the amount for living expenses which will be provided by your supporter, and the amount which will be provided by yourself. We ask you to calculate this by considering your monthly living expenses to get your yearly living expenses. Please convert the annual income of your supporter to yen and write the amount here. If you have a supporter who is paying for tuition fees, please provide the name of your supporter as well as their place of employment. If your supporter is unemployed, please write down information about how they will be able to pay tuition fees and living expenses. In that case, it is not necessary to provide annual income information
