Getting Started Welcome to Business Internet Email service from Bell. We offer a full suite of email features that allow you to enjoy greater security and more flexibility when managing your email accounts. This user guide provides information on how to use and configure the different features of this service. Access your email remotely using Webmail Webmail is a Web based email service that allows you to access your inbox remotely over the Internet by simply using an Internet browser. Webmail is a secure option to accessing your email as the site is encrypted protecting your login username, password and Webmail activities while you are connected. Step 1. To access your Webmail go to: bell.ca/bizemail. Step 2. Enter your Username and Password when prompted. Note: your login credentials would have been sent to you as part of your Business Internet package when you first subscribed to the service. Once you have successfully logged into Webmail, you will be able to use your email and manage your email settings through the features listed on the following pages. 3

Basic Features Out Of Office Message An out of office or vacation message is an automatic reply to any email you receive. It is particularly useful if you are going on leave and need to inform senders that you may not be able to reply for some time, or to contact another person while you are away. Your response can be sent for every message or on a one-time-only basis to each sender. To create an out of office or vacation message: Step 1. Click the Settings link at the top of the screen. Step 2. Click the Vacation Message link under the Personalization menu. Step 3. In the Message Text box, enter the vacation message text you want to send. Step 4. In the Usage Rules section, select the response method you want: Do not activate vacation message Reply every time Reply every time with original message attached Reply once to each sender Step 5. Click OK. 4

Forwarding This feature allows you to create a forwarding rule that can be set up to deliver your email to another email account or accounts. You can also choose whether to keep a copy of the forwarded email in the originating email box or discard it upon forwarding. To forward a message: Step 1. Click the Settings link at the top of the screen. Step 2. Click the Forwarding link under the Mail Management menu. Step 3. In the Forwarding Addresses box enter the addresses to which you want to forward your email. Step 4. In the Forwarding Setting section, select the forwarding method you want: Forward and keep a copy Forward, then discard Step 5. Click OK. To disable message forwarding: Step 1. Click the Settings link at the top of the screen. Step 2. Click the Forwarding link under the Mail Management menu. Step 3. In the Forwarding Setting section, select Disable Forwarding. Step 4. Click OK. Aliases An email alias is an alternate email address that points to your primary email address. This is not a separate email account. Email messages sent to the address of the email alias are forwarded to the primary email address. This feature allows you to create up to 3 email alias addresses under one primary email address. For example, sales@jsgraphics.ca, billing@jsgraphics.ca and support@jsgraphics.ca can all be directed to joe.smith@jsgraphics.ca. To create/delete aliases: Step 1. Visit www.interaction.bell.ca where a login screen will appear. Step 2. Enter your Username and Password when prompted. Step 3. On the home page, click Order on the left navigation bar and then ecare. Step 4. Select the subscriber s profile from the Menu section. Step 5. Click on the New Alias link and follow the instructions. 5

Preferences This section allows you to better manage your email communications when sending or receiving emails. Key features include: 1. Optional preferences for having all sent emails saved in your sent folder or deleted. 2. Automatic spell check of messages before they are sent. 3. Ability to change the from/to or reply address information on your email. 4. Optional settings for the number of messages you want listed in your inbox. 5. Choice of automatic deletion of messages or saving them in your trash folder. To configure the various components of your email account: Step 1. Click Settings in the navigation bar. Under Personalization click Preferences. 6

Advanced Features Business Internet Email service from Bell offers a number of advanced features that are designed to provide you with greater security and more flexibility when managing your email accounts. All these features are available for a minimal monthly fee per user. You can subscribe to these services by visiting www.interaction.bell.ca. SSL Encryption This security feature prevents your messages from falling into the wrong hands by enabling you to send and receive emails through a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) between your computer and the messaging server. SSL is the industry standard for secure Internet transactions used by most banks and financial institutions to ensure that messages cannot be intercepted and read during transmission. This service provides encryption on POP3, SMTP, Webmail, and IMAP4 sessions. SSL Encryption service requires a simple configuration of your email account. The settings depend on the type of application used. Note: The SSL feature must be activated on the messaging servers prior to modifying your account. IMAP4 IMAP4 Internet Mail Access Protocol version 4 is a sophisticated email protocol that allows you to increase your productivity by storing and managing your messages more efficiently on your server. Messages will remain on the server until the user explicitly deletes them or moves them to a local directory (such as their PC). This model is advantageous when accessing email from multiple PCs, laptops or other devices. It also creates a backup of your email on the server in case of PC failure. IMAP4 service requires a simple configuration of your email account. The settings will depend on the type of application used. Additional Storage You can increase your mailbox storage on individual email accounts in increments of 1GB, for greater flexibility and better email management Email Deluxe Bundle This bundle includes SSL Encryption, IMAP4 and 1GB of additional storage at a 30% savings.
