Basic Scanning One file at a time Double click on the Epson Scan icon on the desktop Or Start -> Programs -> Epson Scan Put the object to be scanned in the scanner, aligned with the bottom left corner and upside down. Try not to touch the glass. Go through the settings in the Epson Scan interface to suit your image type. The little thin button next to the large Scan button is where you choose the save settings. Press Scan. Tips If the document is too large (file size NOT image size) then you will need to adjust the resolution and/or image type, and scan again. A B&W 600dpi scan will generally produce an image of about 1MB. This is important if you wish to email scans. YOU WILL NOW NEED TO CLOSE THIS WINDOW. Your file will now appear on the desktop. Please remove when you have finished with it
To scan multiple images Put the object to be scanned in the scanner, aligned with the bottom left corner and upside down. Double click on the Epson Smart panel icon on the desktop Or Start -> Programs -> Epson Smart Panel Choose Scan and Save Go through the settings in the Epson Scan interface to suite your image type. Adjust the settings to suit your image.
Tips If the document is too large (file size NOT image size) then you will need to adjust the resolution and/or the image type and scan again. A B&W 600dpi scan will generally produce an image of about 1MB. Change your image in the scanner, change setting as required, and scan again. You may do this as many times as needed. YOU WILL NOW NEED TO CLOSE THIS WINDOW TO CONTINUE DO NOT USE THE X IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER This window will appear Make sure that the boxes next to your images are clicked and press next
If you wish to save all your images as one PDF document, choose PDF multipage (*.PDF) from the File format drop-down menu. Make sure the file path is the desktop and choose your file type then Save Your file will appear on the desktop to do with as you wish. Please remove it when you have finished with it. Scanning part of an image Double click on the Epson Scan icon on the desktop Or Start -> Programs -> Epson Scan Put the object to be scanned in the scanner, aligned with the bottom left corner and upside down. Go through the settings in the Epson Scan interface to suit your image type. Press the Preview button. Once the preview scan has completed the Preview window will appear.
You have the option of selecting part of the image by drawing a box around the section you want. It will be represented by a dotted box. Then press Scan on the Epson Scan window.
