on stage photography dress rehearsal A dress rehearsal is the best time to capture the best performance photographs. Freedom to move around the auditorium and shoot from different angles always ensures the best possible coverage such as: candid photographs during the rehearsal process. close-up portraits of as many dancers as possible. overall perspective that shows all of the stage, scenery and dancers. from higher or lower angles that give a different perspective to the stage. on stage group shots after each routine is rehearsed. If your dress rehearsal is around 1 week before your performance, a handful of photographs can be available for your program or as a feature display in the entrance foyer of the theatre. I am really impressed with the way you really capture something unique in each photograph and great to see your understanding of line and technique. -Sefra Burstin performance During any performance discretion is used at all times as I stay in one position so as to not disturb the audience. in studio set-up about My style of studio photography breaks away from traditional photo session as I encourage students to move, jump and try new steps. I like to capture the joy and movement of dance as well as a dancers character and personality. As a trained dancer I have an in-depth knowledge of all dance styles and technique and provide a fun experience that helps the confidence and self esteem of students, as well as create expressive and unique photographs. My set includes full studio lighting and backdrop especially designed for dance so there s plenty of room for a ponche arabesque, jete s, split leaps and stag jumps! For inspiration I supply a large collection of photo albums and books full different moves and styles of dancestudents always devour them with much enthusiasm. I also supply props such as chairs, scarves, flowers etc that motivate and encourage students to of all ages. flexible options Photo Day An exclusive day for photography only and perfect for 100-200 students as more time can be spent individually on-set. A minimum of 65 students is required for this shoot. Studio Dress Rehearsal With a carefully planned schedule and two studio spaces available, on-set photography can run in conjunction with a studio dress reahearsal. My priority for this shoot is to not interfere with the important reharsal time, so dancers complete their run-through before proceeding to have their photographs captured. Costumes are often a consideration when planning your shoot. With good grooming and organisation, the uniform leotard with some added bling can look gorgeous. Tu-tu s, tiearas, scarves and even favourite dresses can produce beautiful results. Special sessions Perfect for intermediate, senior and graduating students, smaller groups receive extended individual studio time. These sessions often become a unique form of masterclass or private lesson by working with the dance teacher present. Students learn more about technique, positioning and artistry - the camera becomes a very different kind of mirror. for families Offer your students and their families something extraordinary, a portrait session for a fraction of the cost normally associated with professional studio photography. These sessions can run in conjunction with your studio photo day or as a special event - particularly popular on a Sunday mid-way during the year. $50 deposit is required per family group for up to 20 minutes of on set time. Up to 6 people per booking. Totally private on-line galleries. $50 deposit - non-refundable and deducted from the order. for teachers Using your choice of students and costumes, photographs for marketing and promotional purposes with some acomplished students and/or your staff can be captured easily on photo day. Set aside 20 minutes in the schedule and we can create something special according to your needs. Also great for creating logos, signage etc. during class During class and rehearsal, candid moments are captured using the natural light and atmosphere in your studios.
