Letter of acceptance 1/2 1 June 2015 DEGREE PROGRAMME IN BUSINESS INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted as a degree student in the Degree Programme in Business Information Techhnology at. The admission of a student is conditional until the Lahti UAS (University of Applied Sciences) has checked the applicant's school and other relevant certificates. The Lahti UAS may withdraw the admission, if the applicant has given false information. Incoming Procedure Students from outside the EU/EEA countries, please contact the Finnish Embassy in your country. For the residence permit you have to: - present your passport - present the notification of admission letter and this letter of acceptance - have access to at least 560 euros a month to pay for your accommodation, food and other expenses. For one year of residence you will therefore need to have 6,720 euros available - have details of your comprehensive health insurance coverage For further instructions, please see the enclosed information sheet given by the Directorate of Immigration or see the website http://www.migri.fi. As it will take several weeks to receive the residence permit, it is really important to start the procedure as soon as possible. Tuition Fees Accommodation Arrival in Finland There are no tuition fees. For the accommodation, please see www.oppilastalo.fi, where you can find the alternatives of different accommodation sites and rents, and submit the application form accordingly. In the list of flats, please see Mukkula and Kiveriö, where there are only furnished flats. After the 17 July if you have accepted the study place, your tutor will contact you by email. Our tutor students will be at the bus station (Lahti) or railway station (Lahti) to meet you at the time of your arrival in Lahti. Confirmation of Acceptance Accepting the study place online Log into My Studyinfo (Studyinfo.fi) service from the top of the page and follow the instructions on how to accept the study offer. Electronic identification is required for the log in. Identification is carried out using the Citizen's online authentication and payment service. At the same time you may register as present student or you can register your absence from Lahti UAS, but you must prove the legal grounds for your absence.

In case you are not able to log into My Studyinfo you can return the written confirmation of your participation in these studies soonest, however, by 17 July 2015 at 15.00 Finnish time, at the latest. The medical certificate must state which illness or injury the student suffers from, and that this condition prevents the student from beginning their studies in September 2015. - Obstacles caused by the practical arrangements required by the illness or injury: an adequate clarification, e.g. a certificate from the student housing foundation that the student is on the waiting list for an apartment required by his or her injury. NOTICE TO DEGREE STUDENTS 2015 CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR STUDY PLACE IN FINLAND! Are you a citizen of EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland? If your answer is NO and you plan to study in Finland for more than three months: you will need A RESIDENCE PERMIT. If your answer is YES : you do not need a residence permit. All Finnish embassies and consulates are listed at www.formin.fi. v If there is no Finnish diplomatic mission in your country, contact a Finnish mission in another country to confirm your visit. v Your application will not be processed before you ve visited a Finnish embassy. Start preparing your application immediately after receiving your acceptance letter. The entire process may take several weeks. The application process is longer if you submit an incomplete application, so be sure to follow the instructions on the next page of this letter. Remember that telephone or e-mail inquiries will not make the process faster. If your application is approved, you will get a biometric residence permit card. The card is manufactured in Finland and delivered to the Finnish embassy. It s not possible to expedite the delivery of the card or collect the card from Finland. All students must wait for the residence permit card before coming to Finland. Airline tickets should not be acquired in advance since the decision might not be ready before your flight to Finland. Extending your residence permit Remember to apply for an extended residence permit before your first permit expires. NOTICE TO DEGREE STUDENTS 2015 HOW TO PREPARE A PERFECT APPLICATION? Open an electronic account at www.migri.fi. Log on to your account and carefully fill in the form OLE_OPI. Make sure to fill in your name as it is in your passport, your contact details and the date you plan to arrive in Finland. Next, collect these mandatory appendices and crosscheck them from this list: ACCEPTANCE LETTER FROM A FINNISH EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION v If your acceptance letter was sent to you by e-mail, include the forwarding e-mail from the school in Finland. HEALTH INSURANCE v If your studies in Finland last 2 years or more: your insurance must cover medical expenses up to at least 30,000 euros. After arriving in Finland, apply for a home municipality at your local registry office to be eligible for public health care. v If your studies last less than 2 years: your insurance must cover both sickness and accident related medical expenses up to at least 100,000 euros. v Make sure your insurance is valid for at least one year from the date you plan to arrive in Finland and has no restrictions to the number of days within the period. v Acquire an insurance document which indicates the following information: Who is insured What the insurance covers and what are the amounts of benefit For how long and where the insurance is valid v Make sure the deductible is no more than 300 EUROS. v Don t terminate your insurance! Otherwise you will be responsible for the costs. SUFFICIENT FUNDS v You must have 6,720 EUR for one year (=560 EUR/month) as a bank deposit or as a scholarship or grant. v A BANK STATEMENT FROM YOUR OWN BANK ACCOUNT: Make sure the statement indicates you as the account owner. A shared account or a written guarantee of sponsorship from a private person is not accepted. v A CERTIFICATE OF A SCHOLARSHIP granted by an organization, government or an educational institution. The certificate must indicate the recipient, amount and duration of the scholarship. A bank statement is not necessary if the scholarship fully covers the requirement. A PASSPORT AND A PASSPORT PHOTO v Make sure your passport is valid for at least one year from the date you plan to arrive in Finland. IF YOU ARE UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE, attach a written consent for moving to Finland from both your guardians to your application. If your documents are not in Finnish, Swedish or English, have them translated into one of these languages by an authorized translator. Take the originals of your documents with you to the embassy.
