We welcome applications from Swedish oversea students and students from the Skåne region who would like to study in English in order to enhance their English language proficiencies while being challenged with a rigorous academic programme. Since the programme s language of tuition is English, all applicants are required to sit an entrance test in English. The test serves as guidance for the student, parents, and the school in order to ensure that you have adequate proficiencies in English to be able to successfully complete the programme. International Social Science Programme THE PROGRAMME IS intended for students who are interested in how people and society develop and function today in various ways. The programme lays the foundations for further studies in a broad range of social science areas in higher education. Orientation, Social sciences YOU LEARN ABOUT social structures and people s living conditions from a national and global perspective. International Business & Management Programme THE PROGRAMME IS intended for students who wish to study social sciences, and particularly business and law. The programme is intended for students interested in learning how to start, run and develop a company. The programme lays the foundations for further studies in economics, law and other social science areas in higher education. programme Orientation, Business & Management YOU LEARN ABOUT several different business topics such as marketing, accounting, calculations, leadership and management. You learn about how to start a business, including choosing different types of suitable organisations, i.e legal forms, when setting up your business. MALMÖ BORGARSKOLA 7

Step it up Malmö Borgarskola is a member of several international networks such as IB, International Baccalaureate and ECIS, European International Schools. We have a number of partners around the world and as a student you have the opportunity to take part in our exchange programmes within your study programme e g Brussels, Chichester, England, and more. We have a number of different types of exchange programmes: Europe-Erasmus+, for studies within Europe, Nordic countries-nordplus for studies within the Nordic countries Minor Field Studies, students carry out field work during a few weeks in a developing country. The scholarship recipient collects material for a thesis (Gymnasiearbete) or within a course. In addition to the programmes above, students have the opportunity to visit the country of their studied language. Malmö Borgarskola has partnerships with schools in Germany, France and Spain. We also give you the opportunity to prepare for language proficiency tests. These internationally recognized certificates are looked upon favorably by future employers. DELE (Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language) is the official accreditation of the degree of fluency of the Spanish Language, issued and recognised by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of Spain. MALMÖ BORGARSKOLA DELF is a French proficiency test administered by the Centre international d étude pédagogiques, in addition to allowing you to opt out of a French university s language admission test. Teaching for excellence KARIN EKELUND I was born in New York, but I have lived most of my life in Sweden. I have a degree from the the U.S. and most recently a Master in International Business and Management from University of Lund. In addition, I have also started three private companies, worked with accounting, marketing and sales for more than ten years. To help students progress and learn is very enjoyable, and I think and hope that my enthusiasm and background can help broaden their international perspective. 10 Malmö Borgarskola

JONNA BENSBY I have a Master s degree in Psychology and a Master in Education from University of Lund. Career wise I started in business, but then moved to the public sector where I worked as a social counselor and therapist before becoming a teacher. Over the last 12 years I have taught psychology and social studies in the U.S., Chile, and now here in Malmö. I really feel at home in the multicultural and open atmosphere here at Borgarskolan, where I have an opportunity to use my eclectic experience and work with ambitious and reflective students. Education UK UK universities have an excellent reputation for providing a quality education recognised by employers around the world. This, in addition to the unique experience of student life in the UK, makes study here a firm favourite for Scandinavian students wishing to study abroad. We have a long tradition of preparing students for university studies in the UK with around 40 applicants each year. Our Education UK centre is manned by Stuart Cameron and Lois Petersson, both from the UK and with many years experience of university guidance. You can get to know the universities as they visit us throughout the year. At Malmö Borgarskola you will receive unique help with your application and personal statement including interview practice. We are also the test centre for the south of Sweden for the entrance tests to top institutions such as Oxford, Cambridge, UCL, LSE and the medical schools. 12 Malmö Borgarskola

We offer accurate, comprehensive, objective and timely information about higher educational opportunities in the United States and provide specialist guidance to qualified individuals on how best to apply. During the year we are visited by a number of the universities so you will have a chance to get to know them.
