All students K-5 will be attending the Bullying Prevention Program at the high school in the afternoon from 1:30-2:30. Mr. Kevin Horner, a People s Choice award winner has been working with children and students for the past 20 years. He uses a combination of illusions, ventriloquism and his own personal story of being bullied. Kevin encourages all teachers and parents that are able to come join them, do so. Congratulations Ashlynn Batchelor! Ashlynn, a first grader won first place in the Watertown Elks Lodge Americanism Coloring Contest. Good job Ashlynn!! News From Mrs. Wiese s 3 rd Grade Class The 3 rd grade class is currently studying about rocks and minerals in Science class. They wrote rock reports, made fossils out of play dough and made pictures using chalk. Aubrey Fraasch, Jayden Johnson, and James Batchelor are busying studying different rocks and minerals. Maggie Kruger and Mia Van Lith work on creating the perfect fossil out of play dough. Page 3 of 6
The Kindergarten class got to enjoy Green Eggs and Ham in honor of Dr. Suess week. Preston Loskowske shows off his Truffula Tree from the story The Lorax. News from Mrs. Hagen s 2 nd grade class The 2 nd grade class has been learning about the Stations of the Cross during religion. They have been reading books and discussing what each of the 15 stations resembles. Each student drew a picture of one of the stations, and they are displayed on their bulletin board outside their classroom. Stop by and take a look at their creative drawings! The class is enjoying being involved in the Stations on Wednesdays with the rest of the school. 4 th and 5 th grade students enjoyed a Health Fair on Thursday March 5th. The 4 th and 5 th grade students were invited to join other students at Koch school for the Health Fair. While there they got to walk through an inflatable heart. That seemed to be one of their highlights! They also got to look at and touch a real cow s heart. Some did it and some didn t have the stomach to! The 4 th grade class with the inflatable heart. Maurina Street is getting her blood pressure taken and they even braved touching a cow s heart. Recently the girls of St. Lawrence participated in the Catholic Daughters coloring contest. The theme was How to be a good neighbor. The winners for the 6 th grade class were 1 st place Jessica Pillatzki, 2 nd place Amaya Street and 3 rd place Peyten Wiese. The winners for the 5 th grade class were 1 st place Savanna Osowski, 2 nd place Bella Gresens and 3 rd place Hattie Muellenbach. GOOD JOB GIRLS!!
