Welcome to the International Workshop on SUSTAINABLE WATER MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OVER TRANSBOUNDARY SPACES organized by the European University Miguel de Cervantes (UEMC) of Valladolid (Spain) between 5 and 6 April 2016. Our university try to respond to the exigencies of professional training for the sustainable development, despite times of hardship. Facing the current challenges of society and primarily dedicated to the sustainable development, UEMC is oriented towards the integrated approach to the economic, social and environmental realities. True to its mission, our university aims to gather together researchers, students and professionals from environmental, management, economics, engineering and industry, in order to share the results of their scientific research, innovative ideas and practical experience related to sustainable development. We hope that the international community of researchers concerned with water management under sustainability point of view will find our workshop the opportunity to identify solutions that can contribute to the sustainable development of our planet.
