PASSPORT Staff and aap s TO GEORGETOWN LAW
Welcome! By now you likely know, and maybe even have seen first hand, a few things that set Georgetown apart as a place to study law. Part of what sets Georgetown apart is carved on the Edward Bennett Williams Library: Law is the means, justice is the end. In addition to seeking justice, we follow the four centuries old tradition and Jesuit principle of educating the whole person. This principle guides our interactions both in and out of the classroom. At Georgetown, we seek to be a community where everyone faculty, students, and staff can do their very best work. Like the students who choose to study here, as a member of the Georgetown Law community, you will meet many talented people and be exposed to all sorts of ideas. From your first day here, you will experience: A thriving and thoughtful community eager to welcome you; A reflective intellectual engagement that will challenge and stimulate you; Our traditions that will comfort and strengthen you. Over the next few days, this passport will help guide you through the process of getting settled in and getting to know Georgetown. In addition to this and the support provided by your department, resources are available online at www.law.georgetown.edu. Again, we welcome you to the Georgetown University Law Center community!
