UWA BUSINESS SCHOOL FOYER Master of Commerce at UWA The Master of Commerce is ideal for recent graduates seeking to develop further expertise to pursue careers in business. It is suited both to graduates with a non-business degree seeking a postgraduate qualification in business, as well as to business graduates wanting to add new area(s) of specialisation to their skillset. Students complete core units in ethics, economics, financial accounting, global business, management, and marketing. In addition, the Master of Commerce gives you the scope to specialise in: Human Resource The flexible course structure gives you the choice of combining two specialisations, completing more extensive study in one specialisation, or combining one specialisation with an array of electives from across the other specialisations. Career opportunities are vast and depend on your choice of specialisation. The flexible structure enables you to design the course to suit your career interests. Joy Huang Course structure and rules Specialisations Course requirements The Master of Commerce consists of 16 units, comprising four conversion units, two core units, one specialisation (four units) and additional option units (which may be used to complete a second specialisation). Conversion units Economics for Business: Policy and Applications Introductory Financial and Organisations Students who have completed undergraduate studies in business may be eligible to receive credit for these units. Option units Option units can be drawn from any of the above specialisations and can be used to complete a second specialsation. Duration Two years full-time, or equivalent part-time. Students with an undergraduate degree in commerce who receive credit for the conversion units may be able to complete the course in 1.5 years of full-time study, or the equivalent in part-time study. Delivery On campus Full-time; part-time Admission requirements To be eligible for admission into the Master of Commerce, you must meet the following requirements: 1. Have a recognised bachelor s degree with an average mark in the credit range, as determined by the ; and 2. Be able to demonstrate an acceptable level of academic English language competence.
