To promote relationships with Indian and foreign universities and academic and research organizations through appropriate Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) To provide appropriate assistance to students, faculty and researchers of IITG who wish to visit other organizations with whom IITG has agreements of collaboration. To provide appropriate assistance to foreign students, visiting scholars, exchange students and interns visiting IITG. 19

Academic partnerships and MoUs with international universities, industries and research labs are targeted to foster collaborative academic and research activities along with exchange visits of faculty, research staff and students. Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) have been signed with a number of institutions in Asia, Europe, and Australia which seek to promote institutional collaborations ranging from student and faculty exchange, student internships, joint conferences and workshops to joint research projects. IITG also hosts a number of foreign interns and exchange students throughout the year and encourages them to spend summer/academic semesters at IITG. Undergraduate and postgraduate students of IITG also do internships with universities, industries and research labs abroad. IITG encourages qualified foreign students to join full time Master s and PhD programs in its academic departments and centres. IITG currently hosts full time students from various countries. Students desirous of studying in IITG can apply for scholarships from the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) through the Indian Embassy or High Commissions in their home countries where they can indicate IITG as their preferred choice. Sponsored or self-financed students can also apply to IITG for admission to its full time Master s and PhD programs these applicants can get more information by writing to the Dean, Alumni Affairs and External Relations (doaaer@iitg.ernet.in).
